Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
I wonder if they would have used their own #6192 chrome knockoffs

No, people used them. Honestly I'd trust a nylon nut over a non locknut any day haha

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Pretty hard to find, haven't seen one for sale in a long time. That said, the stock ones are super easy and those Molotov chrome pens would probably do an outstanding job

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
The Jim Halsey guide says the entire 6-gear assembly should spin freely for 15 seconds after doing the steps in the guide. First, I'd see if you can get a good 5+ second spin when you have the assembled drive gear & idler assembly in your hand. If not check the gear mesh. You can enlarge the ho...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Things to keep in mind: Not all bearings are created equal. Not by a long shot. Most RC bearings are actually on the cheaper side of the spectrum. I've paid $20+ each for some of the bearings in my fishing reels. Not all bearing oils are created equal, especially when trying to get something to spin...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
For my fishing reels, I make my own mix of TSI 321, Corrosion X, and 99% IPA. It's mostly alcohol as a carrier fluid.
I flood the bearings in it and let the alcohol evaporate, leaving a thin film of TSI and Cor X.

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?
I've installed the electronics this afternoon so it's a runner now. Reedy 1523MG, Dynamite branded HW 1060, and a Corona Futaba compatible Rx. P1010016.JPG I have the body cut and fitted so I just need to mask and apply paint. Still waiting for decal sheet from MCI. The front tires are original 10T ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Just noticed that one of my rear stub axles is NOT threaded while attempting to install the rear tire lock nut. 3 of the axles are threaded, this one is smooth. I opened an AE service request for a new axle and roll pin... will keep everyone updated on what they say. VERY annoyed as this was the fin...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Do you know anyone with a tap and die set? Adding a 1/4-20 UNC thread (edit: actually 8-32 thread. Thanks Joseph!) wouldn't be too difficult. Very annoying though, yes. Someone else here had that happen with a Tamiya or Kyosho kit not long ago. I'm surprised this happens, but apparently it does. If ...
