Re: 2014 Kyosho Beetle
Going to decide on the tire writing for the Kyosho, leaning towards yes. At first I was thinking no, I wouldn't... ...but it makes a really impressive difference with the tires painted: Kyosho Painted Tires.jpg Though... 1/10th Goodyear decals/waterslides would look soooo good: Kyosho Goodyear Tire...

Re: 2014 Kyosho Beetle
Nice work! The tire writing really does it for me on a set of shelf tires, wish the paint were more durable, would love to drive around like that. Still deciding what to do on this one. Took another look at it today and thought about putting the stock chrome wheels back on - leaving it all Kyosho, ...

I could be wrong but it looks like in the picture servo or double sided tape was used. I really like your build and attention to detail.

Nylon color - through the decades including the 40th
Since the question regarding the color of the nylon parts for the 40th kit came up, I'm revisiting a question I have had for a long time. First, the 40th kit parts are definitely a shade whiter than old kits ever were - albeit not as big a difference as might be thought. Furthermore though... it see...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
... We are running chinese $1 a pop bearings these days vs the $80 high end NMB bearings sets back in the day. That's true and the difference is night and day. I have some of those early metal shielded bearings and they're still smooth and spin forever. By contrast, I've had to replace many of the ...

Just saying. And those probably aren't their top of the line bearings.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
I like your choice of motor.
I kept 2 or 3 in my rotation of motors from mid 80's thru mid 90's.
I had better luck with the earlier 1985 version over the later version of the silver labeled 1987 Monster Horsepower stock motors.
Still have those motors today.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Though it was overkill for my cars and my ability, I ran the 1985 ESC-190 Pro (P) black sticker, golden letters, 6 + 2 FET. Bought it as soon as I could afford it. Tekin ESC190.JPG It was the only ESC I ran for probably 10 years and it still runs just like new. Still in my Delta Spyder. delta5.JPG C...

Yep
As quiet as a whisper in the wind.
Tried it on RC10 but it always wanted to skip teeth.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
The newer editions of the gears are beige. That was for the 2013 as well as the cc release. Does anyone know if they are sturdier than the original gears? Would also be curious to know the answer to this. Just catching up on this thread... The idler gears on both the 2013 and the 2024 40th car are ...

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you crrently waiting for?
I bought a junk lot on eBay yesterday..... mostly for the Bandit parts, as I was gifted a Rustler missing parts to rebuild, so I should be able to create something usable. Plus, was a great price for what will hopefully give me the parts to rebuild one, and maybe even two, trucks. 03.jpg Mostly junk...

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you crrently waiting for?
I haven't received anything yet in the post, I'm anxiously awaiting parts... What's keeping you from finishing your project? Thats what I took the thread for. Perhaps simply "What are you currently waiting for" would a better subject title?? As hard as you've been searching for the Fuchs ...
