Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Buds was still buds at least well into 1991, I think your going to struggle to find a very early pinned ring vs simply notching it out more with a Dremel and calling it a day.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Maybe try and make a reduced size tip on a set screw, if its long enough. Put it in a nut with the end sticking out, clamp the nut hard in a vise, and then do some work on the end with a file, cutting wheel, etc.

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
I have some brush motors coming soon as well, starting with 12x1 and 17x1, they will be chrome can instead of the black though. Hopefully will have them available by the time the next big release happens. They will be $19.95 just like the good old days

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
This “Spaz Stix” chrome I used for a bumper is pretty reflective even on the painted side. The label is lost and gone but looking at the bottom of the cans I’m 99% sure it’s a Spaz Stix product. 9576ED4B-7DDC-45C9-B000-ED2F04CDD170.jpeg 0B6AB7A1-0991-440A-B505-BBC1B8F3706B.jpeg 84AFCCCA-C7D7-4109-AE...

Re: Associated Foam Tires - Standard size
I have (2) old Bolink RC10 foam sets that measure 1.7" in diameter. Just the widths and the tire OD's are different. [ The donuts are cut and trued to match desired width and diameter. 1:10 pan car wheels are generally 1.7" or 2.0", with widths varying. 1:12 are usually 1.4". Th...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
To my knowledge I thought polycarbonate paint works good on plastics, but plastics paint on polycarbonate is a nogo.GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:34 pm
I have Alclad II but it's for Lexan, will Spaz Stix work on nylon or hard plastics, like the knockoffs?

Just don't clearcoat over the Alclad or it will go dull.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Just like other paint types, PC paint will adhere to almost anything - plastic, wood, metal, etc. For example, I use PC paint for ABS plastic exterior trim parts when I need a perfect color match to the body shell. PC paint isn't glossy so I will apply clear over these parts so they will better matc...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Looks great and I agree with your comments.
The 40th is very well made; parts are clean, precise and beautifully finished.
I was reluctant to order one at first but now I'm happy I did.
Mine is #2045.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Just don't clearcoat over the Alclad or it will go dull. I have had good luck clearing over Alclad II Lacquer (chrome ALC 107) with Alclad II Lacquer Aqua Gloss Clear (ALC600). I've used the Aqua Gloss clear to seal and protect several water based polycarbonate paints successfully. I also have used...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
I was recommending the Spaz Stix for the knock offs, but if you decide to use it on the bumpers, it’s almost mirror on the outside of the body. I’ll take a picture of the bumper I pictured earlier later, if you would like to see it?

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
That Revell looks to work really good, but that’s some expensive paint. The Spaz Stix even surprised me going on that first spoon, but a mirror smooth finish sure helped a lot I bet. As you saw in the video, chrome on lexan gives an almost mirror finish. But still only as good as the surface finish ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I’ve been waiting on my window net material to show up. Dropped a Cadillac motor and NiCad pack in to give it some weight. Probably going to call it good enough.
