Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
might need to trim more from the nose's sides.
Also, if you're wondering why it doesn't fit exactly like JJH car keep in mind he trimmed the sides of his tub down a bit so the body does sit a tad bit lower than stock. You can see it in the article you posted.

Hole needs to be enlarged slightly since the post angles back. If you look at a new body the hole outline is oval shaped not round.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
To me the JG hood decal on the eBay sheet looks the same size as the MCI ...where as you need the decal to be ~36.5% smaller Their JG vs a JG that's sized down: Big vs Small.jpg Quick and dirty Halsey's car turned upright, straightened and scaled so the size of his number plates match the eBay decal...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
You're welcome, happy to help. Cool to hear he'll size the decals for you. If his number plates are the right size the JG should be the same width, that's the way it looks in the Halsey photo, which means his hood flag needs reduced to 80% it's current size.... probably the same for the wing flags t...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
Could ask him to omit the Associated decals and just print the ones you need, smaller sheet would cost less too. Or MCI lets you design your own decal sheets on their site, 5x7 starts at like $7CAD and you can scale each decal on the sheet to whatever size you want... kind of a cool option on their ...

No prob 8) Tokyoprof regularly posts cool stuff... always dig his threads. Ruffy also posted a similar pic on his World build from 2010: www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=15510 https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=36502&mode=view I'm surprised to be the first to notice or say something a...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
I'll look into the MCI custom sheet, but feel like I shouldn't have to, they've been selling that JJH sheet for a while now and I'm surprised I'm the one to have to mention all this, or that being this particular is a 'me problem'. Probably have heard from folks but for some reason there's a voice ...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
MCI is an excellent service, but I suspect they have so many product offerings that it probably is overwhelming to be accurate with all of it. The motor labels I've gotten from them aren't always as perfect as I'd like but the variety available is impressive.

Re: Tamiya Tyrrell P34 6-Wheeler - 1977 Argentine GP - 2022 Reissue
I'm still having problems with the paint on this model, if you can believe it. I should've left well enough alone long ago. The problem is when the paint has the desired wet look, in other areas it's dry orange peel. I've decided I want to try a clear layer over the blue, and then polish out the cl...

Re: Tamiya Tyrrell P34 6-Wheeler - 1977 Argentine GP - 2022 Reissue
If you're polishing it you'd want the Gloss one. [edit] missed the part where you said you already wet sanded. There are (5) cans of TS-15 Blue on this body, the chances of sanding through the base coat are next to none :D. I'll definitely get this thing as smooth as can be with the 3500 sponge, be...
