Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Yeah between the short and long position, the spacer on the hub carrier side (and the ability to run thinner spacers for fine adjustment) as well as the inner mounts toe changing the wheelbase, you will have a wide range of fine wheelbase tuning. Someone would need to have some time to measure it al...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
... With those gold DS stock wheels, I ordered an HPI Trans Am Bandit body, the wheelbase should be about right. https://i.imgur.com/8h14cBC.jpg ... Ooh, great choice!! I've been looking at that TA body myself. It looks a little wide but otherwise, it appears that HPI did a great job replicating th...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
What is all this crazy talk? No love for Tommy Kendall's Mustang?
I was actually surprised (then and now) that AE didn't do the Sting Ray body as a call back to the Dead Pool movie.

What is all this crazy talk? No love for Tommy Kendall's Mustang?  I was actually surprised (then and now) that AE didn't do the String Ray body as a call back to the Dead Pool movie. Actually, I think TK's 'Stang looks great and AE's body looks very close to the real car. I like a...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Just hit the HPI website for some answers: The wheels on the TA in the photo are discontinued but I'm sure Tamiya and others make a similar wheel. The TA body is 200mm x 254mm wheelbase so it won't simply drop-on the DS without some work. Having integrated wheel flares might limit how the wheel arch...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Ignore the dust. Here is a pic of my DS with the HPI body on it. Mounting holes aren't aligned for this car. The width is ok, the wheelbase is a little short but I didn't cut it for this body. It just runs a bit on the front and back so you should be able to trim to fit. 17229068566092.jpg 172290685...

Re: Was KISS the hottest band in the world? 77'/78'
77-78 was the perfect storm for KISS. Some were fans of the music; 100x as many were fans of the shows. Many shows at the time, even with extremely talented bands, were literally just hippies standing around in jeans and t-shirts. Also, by about 1976, kids like me had latched on for the costum...

Re: Was KISS the hottest band in the world? 77'/78'
Since I was born in the late 70's, the "music" is all that I have. Exactly! The music doesn't tell the story, so if you missed the hype, it is hard to understand why it ever happened. Evel Knievel is the same story. If you sat on the floor at grandma's house watching this maniac(!) ...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Wide pan car or buggy conversion. Link in last post. I looked at that catalog page again, and it caught my eye that AE referred to this body as a "stock car." In reality, the body is super widened with flat panels on the side and rear, exactly like a trans am car (why I bought it). The sh...
