Re: Inexpensive Airbrush kit - Beginner Level
Need the booth and some paints in order to get started. Might be another couple weeks before I can get to this. https://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Portable-Lighting-Extension/dp/B00NLQ019A Kit looks really complete. Awesome that the compressor is quiet, a lot of them are loud to the point of be...

Re: Airbrush paint help
I'm going to stick to my original post. I have had good results with acrylic paints using the above recommendations. I will add... The last step, for a more durable finish, the idea would be to spray a wet coat of Alclad Aqua Clear to seal and protect the acrylic paint. After recently using Aqua Cle...

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
I finally watched the full Jay Halsey video on the previous page. I saw a pic of my replica at the 9:30 time stamp.

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024
Everything is looking good so far. FWIW, I've found it best to apply decals for only 10 or 20 minutes, go do something else for a while then come back to it. Taking a break gives my eyes a rest and allows my hands to stop shaking. The window surrounds are especially tedious since there's almost no m...

Re: Inexpensive Airbrush kit - Beginner Level
Thanks! I don't have a large box or furnace filter laying around. I could go out back and scatter the paint back there, but it's going to get to 100°F here today, really need an indoor setup. I saw a tutorial video where as guy was airbrushing a dry towel with water, to demonstrate flow and applica...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
I know it's a little early to tell, overspray film is still on, but is there a noticeable difference in the bumpers vs the hood grills?
Or did you use Alclad on the hood as well?

Re: Inexpensive Airbrush kit - Beginner Level
Most of my problems with airbrush clogging aren't because of cleaning (or lack thereof) but because of metallics and pearls having particles that cause the clogs. Most cheapie airbrushes I've used, even with needles and nozzles up to 0.5mm, get clogged frequently when spraying metallics & pearls...

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
bA82-PhCNxM Cool interview. I know the industry has moved on, and tracks as in the video are harder to maintain, but THAT is what I call off road. The tracks today are on road tracks with INSANE jumps. I know the speeds today would never be possible on tracks like that, but that’s my opinion. Sorry...

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
I finally watched the full Jay Halsey video on the previous page. I saw a pic of my replica at the 9:30 time stamp. :) This one? Yeah. That pic is from right before I sent it to him to sign the body so it still had the black wheels. I found the chrome outer halves after it came back. Almost 15 year...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Thanks! Same polish I always use on aluminum, lexan and now carbon fiber, Meguiar's Ultimate. I put a healthy daub on a flat sponge polishing pad and spin with a drill. To be honest, I really could not pick up the very minor scratch remnants with the camera, but I did try. Way better than it starte...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
I'm gonna break the rules and post a picture that I've never actually taken. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. This image is from Google maps. This "T" shaped bridge is the exact spot where the Enola Gay dropped "Little Boy" on August 6th, 1945. hiroshima.jpg That domed struc...

Re: So You're Into RC Cars. WTF Else Do You Do?
If you need to get the yellow off your vintage plastics, this 12% peroxide cream works incredibly well in direct sunlight, uncovered, and reapplied every 20 minutes to keep it even and wet. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SVTJKGK Not to take this thread off into a completely weird direction, but I use...
