Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Incredible! Your print looks as good as the injection molded part. Me thinks you made a wise choice with the QIDI printer.

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

If you want a dryer and an AMS then get a food dryer , it's what I use , goes upto 75°C and does nylons and PC just fine if you give it enough time , I wouldn't even consider spending big money on a purpose made filament dryer . I looked into a food dryer; it's a great option especially for drying ...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

I prefer the blue, if that's what you're asking. I see the blue VW in the background though, so you may prefer to have orange instead.

However the Rough Rider's body always seemed closer to the blue Bel-Ray Bullet than to Bob Maynard's ...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

For me it's orange all the way.
And, I were building a Buggy Champ, I'd ditch the radio box, mount the battery to the chassis plate lengthwise and mod the body so the sides roll under like the box art.

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

Orange feels right. Will also get a vintage/repro decal sheet. Found a set of Centerlines for the 1.7" Tamiya wheels. Had to do it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/332339169637 https://i.imgur.com/54S2EsY.jpg Cool! My very first RC vehicle was painted orange and white so maybe I'm a little biased. I ...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

The Manx dune buggy chassis is supposed to be printed out of Nylon, but I used Silver PLA instead, with a 0.20mm layer height and using the Strength preset. https://i.imgur.com/TmzOhs7.jpg Even the ugly side isn't too bad, and was pretty easy to clean the supports off of, for once. https://i.imgur....

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Was listening to some printer news and they were discussing a possibly problem with the qidi, something worth looking at to make sure you are not effected. Here is a topic on it showing the ssr module and how to access it. Bambu has a problem on their bed slingers that was discovered similarly and l...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Yesterday, technically. Made a couple of trips to a park near my cousins. Did some good running. I have a couple of vids I'll post later. That GT rips with the .15 OS in it! No video of that, unfortunately.

Driver figure

Tried a "hack" to get some dimension into a driver figure.
The body was stripped of it's original paint by using brake fluid. Original paint was water based.
The body is probably as old as the car, a RC12L.
