Re: RC10 40th Green Edition

The Jun Watanabe Hornet was released in 2012 I believe. Did they re-release it under the Block Head Motors label again in 2020 or something? Since Watanabe owns Blockhead my guess is the car is from the 2012 rerelease but Blockhead was/is still making pink tires. Just one color? If you're gonna tea...

Re: Cougar Classic Motor and ESC rec’s

I defer to the group on the brushed motors and the aesthetics for a display piece. If you just want a worry free runner, though, the 13.5 (or even 17.5) HW Justock combo is way more powerful than necessary for $110-ish and you never have to touch it. No commutator cleaning/cutting, no brush replacem...

Re: YZ10 rere- this time with blue box art

can someone please explain to me how/why is this a Associated release? isnt the YZ10 a yokomo car? what is the relation to Associated and why is Associated the 'owner' of this release and not yokomo like the super dog fighter for example? i probably have insufficient knowledge of RC history and wou...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

The track's finished. Added a small jump after the tabletop and halfway down the main straight. The pictures are taken from the driver's stand. 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg The driver's stand. 4.jpg I'll build a real one in 2026. What are you using for the track edging? 12mm garden hose. It's held down ...

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build

How did you gauge the size of the cut outs for the rear tires? There is no guide lines on the body for them. this was the biggest challenge for me on that entire build. I simply could not believe there were no rear wheel cut lines in the stock body. Turns out this was because the original DS ...

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build

How did you gauge the size of the cut outs for the rear tires? There is no guide lines on the body for them. I use the front tire assembly as a guide, lay it against the body and trace a line then cut to fit. It is best to have extra set of wheels and tires so all 4 corners are ready to do the trac...

Brendan2904 wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:53 pm How did you attach the rear wing?
I use 3M VHB on everything, also used it on the tail wing.

Brendan2904 wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 4:14 pm I was going to use gorilla tape but I think the 3m would work better.
I've found that lexan scissors will cut the 3M VHB without gumming up like other scissors do, really easy to stick the 3M on something, and trim the excess that way.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Getting a lil' done on the team car here and there. Still have parts trickling in as I get around to them. Currently waiting on a couple Factory Works bits, some ball studs and a servo horn. Motor in the pic is a Reedy modified Gold Star 14x2, but the armature that came out of it has 22 written on i...
