AE RC12L3 Resto-Mod: 1987 Buick GNX
I always dreamed of having a Grand National RC car, but no GN body was ever made (in Lexan, anyway). Over the years, I discovered that a toy-grade RC was sold in 1:10 scale with a same-era Buick Regal body, but that RC car was some stupid-looking monster truck thing on idiotic huge wheels. I found a...

Re: AYK (Boxer - Buffalo - Bobcat) the first one of mines
Polishing your balls is a good place to start. I like the Buffalo chassis, I had fun resto-modding my buddy's car--except for those round, raspy wheel hubs that bite into the wheel plastic. Finding a way to make 12mm hex hubs, modern wheels and axles work was a major pain in the a$$. If I eve...

Re: RC10DS - Pantera - Mid Engine Dual Conversion
I've always liked the Pantera, the father of a kid I knew in the neighborhood owned one...royal blue with white Shelby stripes. Gorgeous car. Someday I'll do a Pantera body, maybe to fit my CYANide car. What is the exact width at the front & rear wheelwells, and exact wheelbase, axle-to-axle, if...

Re: First foray into RC boats: FeiLun FT012
Here are the cracked motor mounting posts...this ended up being an annoying obstacle, but here's how I repaired it. CrackedMountingPosts.jpg I was very lucky to find that 7/32" aluminum tubing was a perfect diameter to fit over the plastic mounting posts nice and snug. However, the outside diam...

Re: Dodge Magnum Transformation
A pic with the new wheels I chose for the car, I think they look much better than black-on-black. The tires I put on are also slightly larger than stock (255-45-20's instead of 245-45-20's). I bought a DiabloSport InTune i3 programmer and one of the features is to calibrate for non-stock tire sizes,...

Re: we all have big toys too don't we? show off your ride!
Nice '68 Charger project there! It's good to see another forum member with a Charger project. I'm working on a '70 and someone else here is working on a '66 or '67, I believe.HotRodJosh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 10:41 pm My daily and long term project.

That's great, my Charger was my first car, too...bought it for $2200 back when I was 18 or 19 years old.

Re: Kyosho Pro XRT build
Nice job indeed -- the body looks amazing. Is the metallic gold paint a transparent color applied over a silver base perhaps? It looks great!! 8) Thanks to all for the kind words. For the "yellow" color I used Tamiya Gold PS-13 (picture below) and backed it with silver. It is ridiculous h...

Re: RC4WD 1/18 Gelande 2
My father's an orthodontist (retired)...carefully twisting and bending wires is a big part of the job, practically an art form.

Re: Traxxas Bullet Rebuild
Those are pretty decent, inexpensive shocks. I used the same set with minor modifications to fit a Turbo Optima. I found them too stiff with the included weight of oil and pistons, but it wasn't much work to get them dialed in. The sad thing is those shock sets appear to be discontinued everywhere I...

Re: RC10L Wheel Question
Sure thing, I can probably get those measurements this weekend...but they're the same wheel specs as RC10L wheels, I believe.

Re: RC10L Wheel Question
Hi KidAgain, I got those measurements for you.
Front & rear wheels are both 1-7/8" diameter. Rear wheel width is almost the same, maybe a touch over 1-7/8". Front wheel width is about 1". Hope this helps!
