Coel's Stalls
Topic Revised: March 2015 My original Gallery post was quite outdated and I figured could use some streamlining. I joined this forum after digging my old Kyosho Optima out of storage and decided to restore it. I removed some googly-eyes stickers that were cute at the time, but seemed childish now. ...

Re: New Optima Build: Project CYANide - Finished!
I can finally say Project CYANide is completed! This took over 8 months to finish, several months more than I expected, but I'm happy with the final product...an Optima like no other! Tonight I found the time to take the final "money shots". Thanks to all who followed this thread, helped m...

Re: Some specific questions about FlySky GT3B Setup
Wow, nobody?? :? I figured out how to set the end-points on my own with more trial-and-error. So, in case anyone else happens across this topic and wants to know how to reduce or increase your servo travel, here's what you do (you can increase throw above 100% if you want more travel): -Go into the ...

Re: Nichimo Spirit FF
My dad mailed me down an old Nichimo Spirit that he had for me when I was a kid 30 years ago and I started putting it together this week with my son and the left upright axle was broke in the box, does anyonel have parts for it? It is part P-2. I attached a pdf of the part. Thanks, Frank Welcome to...

Re: Tamiya Farm King - Now that's different
What you need is a servo to control a sliding weight so that you can activate/deactivate wheelie mode. This old RC trike I got back in the 80's had a battery pack that you could slide either vertically up into the seat or down in a more horizontal position to enable wheelie mode or speed mode. It's ...

Turbo Optima build - Project Barney Finished
I can finally call this project finished. Hard to believe it started almost 3 years ago, but I don't want to call something done until it's truly finished and the money shots taken.

Project OptiMutt - Finished
Another project finally wrapped up. I got this one done lightning-quick, compared to my other builds--barely 13 months! :P I got the idea for this build when I acquired a set of these JPS rear aluminum wheels, then discovered RedScampi had a set of matching fronts. Neither of us had a full set, and ...

Re: Rejuvenating my Optima
Although I consider my original Zebra Optima restoration finished, I've never stopped being on the lookout to add gold aluminum-nums whenever I can. I saw adam lancia offering these Optima "heavy duty joint cups" for sale in the B/S/T section and bought 2 pairs. I figured they'd be like Th...

Re: Masking curved pin striping lines
I totally recommend liquid mask, especially for curved lines and/or lines that go through corners or difficult-to-reach niches. I've used the best pinstriping tape money can buy (3M vinyl fine line tape in various widths) and they ALL let paint bleed through, especially when you try to curve the tap...

Re: SG Coyote
Plastics parts in hot water around 20 minutes, and tap the holes before the screws I'd be wary of that suggestion; nylon can be freshened & strengthened by boiling in water, but ABS plastics can deform and melt...so be careful. Certainly wouldn't use boiling water, just warm water. Or a hair dr...

That's a beauty! I kept thinking, though, "Imagine how awesome it'd look if the shocks were gold..."

Re: Kyosho Big Brute, Ultima XL and Turbo Raider - Back Into
Welcome to the forum, nice cars! I like that Turbo Raider, actually. :) You're in good hands here but yes, there's a bit of a "re-learning curve" when it comes to modern electronics. It's not possible to make a single post to answer all your questions and teach you everything you need to k...
