Re: Forum News & Discussion
The board just had an unplanned downtime of 3 hours. :? I simply tried to install an antispam extension which pinned the servers CPU for some reason crashing everything. It took me an hour and a half of manipulating things to get the board working long enough to uninstall the modification. I ...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
I received the Fast Traxx pickup for Christmas one year but can't recall driving it in the snow but imagine I would have due to the time of year. I even have a picture of it under the tree. What I distinctly remember though is getting a Nikko Land Shark for another Christmas, and driving that in the...

Re: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide (Discussion Topic)
I've added the ABC Hobby M&Y Tune Up Motors. I deciphered a really poor black and white copy of the specs, only to discover there was a nice and clear version already uploaded here the moment I was done.

Re: Currently Watching
House (1985) It's categorized as a comedy horror but isn't overly funny or scary which I don't mean disparagingly. It's standard '80s fare, and one of my favorites. I think I first saw it in the '90s, and have watched it periodically ever since. It stars William Katt who was slated to be an '80s act...

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!
It's that time of year again! RC10Talk's 19th anniversary or birthday whichever you prefer!
Thanks to everyone as always for making this place what it is. Between the content and longevity, you have to wonder if we were the catalyst for the whole re-release resurgence.

Re: how do I know the capacitators are ok?
When I was in electronics class in high school the teacher would put a capacitor in the end of an extension cord, put that end into a metal garbage can, and plug the other end into an outlet. Bang!

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!
I can't remember for sure if the backstory has ever been posted on here before but there is the 'About us' page that gives the gist of it: https://www.rc10talk.com/aboutus Yes, I've been involved since the very start. If you view the member list I was one of the first members to create an account up...

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!
Interesting to know the history finally. So UltraRC links to right here, pretty cool. I bet the name does pigeonhole a bit. How does this size of this place compare to Tamiyaclub.com? Just curious as I have no clue how all this works, so someone owns this domain and then presumably he makes money f...

Re: I want...
Hmm maybe a technical hiccup. That's awesome that you still have it these 15 years later. :) I sold my 93 Chevy C1500 around 2 years after posting about it in this topic. I had it for something like 12 years by that point. If I was in the market for a main mode of transportation these days I'd eithe...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
The house I was born and grew up in had a den that was called the 'rec room' which is considered an old timey term these days. Anyway, it was the play room for us kids. One entire wall had orange shelves that contained all of my toys. Right in the middle on the top shelf we had an 8-track/record pla...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
I've always wanted a jukebox, in today's world it would simply be a hard drive full of MP3's, or whatever the current format is. I like having a dedicated device for things, I don't like trying to force a computer to do "non-computing" stuff. Can I play music on my desktop, sure, but it's...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
The Frogger episode! I had a Frogger cab once that someone converted into a TNK III game: https://www.arcade-museum.com/Videogame/tnk-iii Interesting story... I bought it, and the seller and I scheduled the morning of September 11, 2001 to pick it up at their storage unit. The location was abo...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
Awwww yeah. Spent many hours watching content in that format hoping for a boob or better. The best part was the discovery a cable box could be manipulated to unscramble things. There was a device that screwed in-between the coaxial cable and the box. It was a small silver cylindrical device ma...
