Re: You know you're having a bad day when.....
Not my screw up but when I had my Cleveland rebuilt and went to pick it up the fellow said the intake manifold was really difficult to install, and couldn't understand how a home mechanic could ever have fitted it. I didn’t think much of it at the time untill I started installing the carb and access...

Re: Confused By New RC12L Plastic Coloring
I remember I had a set of premounted 1/12 wheels that I wanted to dye black, I put the whole thing in a pot of dye, wheels tires and all............ worked great  I also bought a NIB 12LS and dyed it black straight away as the black parts were the latest thing...... If I could go back in time n...

Re: You know you're having a bad day when.....
Reminds me of when we rebuilt the front suspension on my Fairlane and found one of front arms was shagged after everything was ripped out.... The car was stuck on my poor friends lift for a week while I found another arm. I don’t think he was too impressed with that one. A funny one was with my old ...

Re: Clodbuster Soap Opera
Well, I was pretty excited about this until I couldn't find a set of new wheels and stripping the body. I tried paint remover and ezy off on the body and it didn't touch it so I became discouraged
I think I'll just wet sand it, fill the scratches and paint it.

Re: Clodbuster Soap Opera
First round of wet sanding done. I will probably prime, fill, and "block" the body twice and call it good. I tried to stay off the belt line as best I could so hopefully it's still crisp

Re: Clodbuster Soap Opera
Looks kinda cool as is ! Just add a faded red odd wing and some rust and its there :D Funny you say that, my wife found it on the dining room table this morning and said it looks cool, and if I could leave it as is and just clear it. I laughed and said ummm... no, it still needs paint. She asked wh...

Re: Clodbuster Soap Opera
Note to self..... Don't ever use high build primer/filler ever again  While it worked absolutely fantastic on the flat surfaces it created a lot more work for myself in the way of sanding the more intricate areas. I'm not sure I made it any better at the end of the day, but it will still turn ...

Re: Rc10 worlds front spring help.
I'm sure you would have checked the basics but does the suspension move freely with the shocks disconnected?

Re: Clodbuster Soap Opera
I started to paint the body but in true fashion I ran out of paint, and it's not like I can just pop down to the local hobby shop to get more. The body does look pretty good though so far, one more small step to becoming a Clod. It needs about 3 more coats of red paint, then clear, then black, then....

RC10T2 Fun Truck
With many thanks to Todd I picked this up a little while ago off ebay. From the photos it looked pretty tidy but when it arrived it was actually a bit rough. I don’t think it was used a whole lot but it appears that it had a pretty hard life in that short time. It's not a basket case by any means bu...

Pretty much ready for reassembly, just need to work out my turnbuckle situation
All in all it cleaned up quite well, except you can hardly tell with my crappy camera
