Re: saved from the closet: late 80's RC10 with vintage hop-u
Actually I was going to put the esc in that mount and the receiver on the tower. The esc fits in there really nice.

Ten4 parts list
Here are the parts and options needed to build a Ten4 4WD RC10. Obviously a donor car is needed beyond what is listed here. For the Long wheelbase version, an un-cut noseplate is needed. Also note, you must use a 6565 rear transmission case (with the idler bearings mounted in the case), the World's ...

3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives
Since there seems to be a world-wide outdrive shortage for RC10's, I've decided to try printing some from stainless steel. I bought a NIP pair from aip47-2008 (thanks again man!) and took my measurements from them. I uploaded them to shapeways and ordered a pair, I should have them in a couple weeks...

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives
I've had parts printed in SS before at work and I can tell you, they are hard as f****! I was barely able to tap them! So I don't think strength is going to be an issue. I like to start as simple as possible, which is why initially I just copied AE's design exactly. If they're issues I'll see about ...

Re: Ten4.1
I made a little progress on the Ten4.1 recently. First, the steering. I modified the bell cranks, caster blocks, and steering blocks to get more steering out of it. The Ten4 setup was only getting about 35 degrees of steering at full lock. This was due to the bell cranks hitting the transmission cas...

Re: RC28 modding
Thanks guys. I designed shock collars and printed them in white. I also designed a new bulkhead that looks more reminiscent of RC10 front arm mounts. I still want to make some changes to it, but you get the idea. It also leaves room for a body post in front of it, just like a real RC10. I printed it...

Re: Stealth Transmission à la carte
One of these days I'll get back to my printed stainless steel outdrive project. I've been running that pair on my B1M for just over a year now and, although there's some wear, they are holding up great with zero failures. I need to make some dimensional adjustments so they need less post-processing/...

Re: Wheel base RC10CE vs Worlds Car
If you have that blue anodized cone-shaped washer that comes with the Worlds CVA conversion kit put that inboard and maybe like 2 of the 3 thin washers, then put the 3rd outboard. Annoying that you have to do this, but works like a charm. I need to make those extended length outdrives to solve this...

Not dead
Hey guys. It's been a while! I am still alive and well, just needed a break from RC cars due to other priorities. I started autocrossing my '55 bug and have been really focused on it, plus family, camping, off-roading... You know how it goes! I have been messing around a bit here and there with the ...

Re: RC28 modding
I haven't worked on the more "RC10-ish" RC28 since about the last time I posted in this thread. Recently I've picked it up again and made some pretty good progress. I've got a video on YouTube too if anyone's interested. I still have to design a new rear transmission case, a servo mount, a...

Re: RC28 modding
I've also been working on an aluminum chassis for the 1:28 scale cars. I made a quick prototype by hand, it's seems pretty feasible and I think looks great. The compoenets I designed for the gold pan version above would pretty much apply to this one, with a few small changes and additions. Tracing t...

Front suspension kit for 1:28 scale AE cars and trucks
I have released a front suspension kit for the RC28, SC28, MT28, RC28T, and other 1:28 scale cars and trucks. It's a direct bolt-on kit that replaces the lame "living hinge" front end on these cars with genuine suspension. The kit makes the cars handle so much better, as you can imagine. N...
