Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne

Gonna take you back to an very important car in my rc history. 1989. This was my ultima that was modified as much as my budget for a 16 year old could afford mowing lawns (which I still do to this day for a living). Our local track converted to dirt oval. It was a very loamy heavily watered soil so ...

Re: NEOTRX-1

Back end's done. Quite a bit of fettling with the printed parts. The hinge pin holes were 3mm instead of 1/8" (3.18mm), so I had to ream those. The 5x11x4mm bearings wouldn't fit without some work. Traxxas rear arm mounts needed minor dremeling for outdrive clearance. Rear.jpg Best to use a goo...

Front clip done.

Mostly standard stuff. Some dremeling needed on the castor blocks.

Cliff Lett RC10 bodied CAT XL - Romsey ‘87

Not been on here for a while or really into much RC-wise but these are too cool not to post. An old journalist friend has loaned me his album of personal pictures from the Romsey Worlds in 1987. I have seen one thread requesting pictures of this car but not much else - these shots are previously uns...

Re: Yz-834b re re thoughts

To be fair modern polymers are way better than they were in the 80s so the ribs may not be needed. I actually put off getting one of these in favor of an optima mainly because I want to build something and the 834b is mostly assembled. May get one later on but not now. I'm going to revisit this as ...

Team Losi XX-4

In 1997 Team Losi once again launched themselves onto the world racing stage when they unveiled their 1/10 electric 4wd buggy, the XX-4. Four-wheel drive electric buggy racing had its first IFMAR (and ROAR) championships in 1991 and while it was quickly overshadowed by the popularity of stadium (nee...

Re: Team Losi XX-4

Easily one of the best 4wd buggies of all time. So good Losi revisted the design later as the TLR 22-4.

Granted working on them is a bit more of a challenge and the front arms were a bit of a weak point.

Re: Team Losi XX-4

I'm an AE guy but the XX-4 was a game changer of the time and an amazingly fast buggy.

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)

I wouldn't call it a restoration but I am breathing some life back into this piece. Wild hare i guess. Still has the wheelie bar on it. The Johnson 540 being installed won't require it.
