I first saw an ad for the SG Coyote in January 1986 and thought it looked interesting. I then promptly forgot about it until 1988 when I read about John Schweitzer's modified two speed Coyote in Dirt and Track number four. I was thoroughly impressed...
This is the actual TAG Pro10 RCMC review car (Sept '88), complete with optional central roller clutch and alloy motor mount (neither of which i have seen before) supplied by Phil Greeno. I was offered this as a loft find by...

I haven’t fitted the attack angle kit yet. I was too excited about sourcing the original shell and getting the stickers right on that. It is on my list of things to do though!
To change, a small chassis (1/8) that I unearthed via FB and a Greek enthusiast who was kind enough to sell it to me as I wanted, that is to say without what can be associated with nitro (engine , tank ...)
This is an SG chassis and the...

Hi,
Here is some work of last few week on this chassis:
optimization in 3d print of the speed controler mount
Here is the result once printed and installed:
lot of work for body mount and kind of realistic parts
Been thinking of this for a while. I've got a fair pile of Coyote transmission parts and I've already CAD modeled the Tag Pro10 suspension but I want to take it a little further, I'm planning on changing around the front suspension to give the arms...

Started the major chassis mods , the aim is to lay the motor to one side rather than have it right up top in order to lower the centre of gravity , the battery will be a standard shape and lay flat on the opposite side and more centrally , as close...
I scored a couple of very well used Pro 10s nearly two years ago. They'd been converted to nitro, consequently, both the motor mounts were hacked. A lot of the parts are re-useable. I have a few new parts to add to the mix as well.
This will be a...

In the optional parts list for the Pro 10 it mentions a lightweight crown gear, lightweight diff output shafts and a lightweight diff box. Fortunately, I already have the lightweight output shafts. After some searching, a pair of lightweight crown...
I thought I'd start this thread to show the differences between early to late Coyotes. There was a thread on this but all the pictures are gone. If you have any extra info to add please do so.
First up, suspension arms. Early on the left and later...
So.... i have posted a few of my old race cars on the forum already, and they are the usual RC10 and Yokomo offerings, but when i was just getting into R/C i always lusted after the adverts of the TAG Coyote which was posted in Radio Race Car...

Sorry I did not see someone was kind enough to respond!
Anything really. I have most of the chassis.
So mainly suspension and drivetrain parts.

That's pretty impressive to put together from spares.
I must admit I got mine direct from Mantua Models, they have been selling old stock on Facebook.
I have always loved the Coyote since I first saw it in the October 1987 issue of RCCA.
Fast forward 30+ years..I bought some incomplete kits, a used car and various parts to finally build one..or two. I quickly ran into the problem of...

Got some 1” clear heat shrink tubing and separated a nice looking vintage 1200SC stick battery pack to make the Coyote nunchaku style pack.
Saw one of these on eBay , never even heard of the car before !
Not really tempted for a rare car with a broken chassis at £180 + , looks to have a similar design concept as the Coyote but no parts cross over , anybody know if it is pre or post...

Oops my bad trusting eBay listings, still never seen one before though, might check on parts listings to see if anything is still in stock. I would send you both a thank you but its vanished into the update, so i'll thank you here, thanks guys!
I'm thinking this is probably a Tag not SG Coyote based on the fact that it has TAG on the speedo , i think i got lucky with this one as its so complete , even the broken top arm and missing dog bone seen in the Ebay pictures were in the box that...
Again a 4wd to present to you, a COYOTE SG 4wd.
Like it's a special car , I love , I make a preparation to run without troubles.
The transmission is a major problem , the original spur diff are too bad and like mine are dead, I used...

Hi There,
I am currently building a 2WD runner and were wondering if you had a schematic (dimensions) of the shock mounts you made?
Heres my new build SG Coyote. Its the 2wd version with factory ball bearings and the upgraded diff parts. I don't know a much about it other than I got it for a fair price built it and shelved it.

I just saw a brochure on EBay. They offered a 4wd, 2wd rear, and a 2wd front configuration on the Coyote chassis.
I am building a SG Coyote 2WD runner and are hoping someone could give me a clue as to what current wheels may be suitable.
Any help appreciated,
Cheers

Thanks Chris, that is excellent!
I will cut the inside bead off the front wheels and then fit 4WD fronts so they are a little narrower. I used to do that to make 22mm rims out of 26mm touring car rims years ago and provided you glued the tyre on...
Found a few oddities with my two kits. The newest one with the orange sticker is a front wheel drive version and the other is a rwd version. Both boxes are printed properly stating 2wd without using a sticker however they still show and speak of the...

Very nice, way better than my gray primer I tend to do!
Just picked this up for what I though was an ok price. Not much to start with but at least what I have looks to have never been run. Just old and shows signs of being handled a lot.
Hoping I can find a complete parts car or parts to get this...

I'll look at what spares you have.
I see these on German eBay all the time for super low prices but none of the sellers ship to US
Going through one of my old offroad boxes I found some parts again I got when driving a preproduction TAG car, I think this was the TAG Pro10. Thought some guys might be interested in seeing such parts.
The production car later should use a...
I got this in the mail yesterday. It looks to be in great shape...just some dust from sitting so long. This is the 2wd version. I originally thought it was 4wd from the pictures because it came with the shaft that would power the front gearbox, but...

I think you talk about the TAG PRO 10, with gold chassis , shock towers and shocks, with red wheel like the Mini Mustang.
Exit in 88'...

For the coyote, ball bearing everywhere, balls in arms must be free, the spring are so hard and the arms make the suspension,
the plastic gear are breakable, used steel gear from option or TAG Pro 10 but hard to find, I see to mount the B44 gearing...
My friend has a Old Coyote 4wd offroad buggy, I know I need pictures I am working them. Are they collectible or worth anything? I have never seen one or this one and he knows nothing about them he was thinking about selling it but Like me doesnt...

I remember seeing this SG car in action, it was beaten up by optimas quite a bit. Next thing I saw a few of them in second hand shops... Just not a stable car like the Kyosho in the 80s.
Here is a question for the vintage 1/12th scale guys. Unfortunately I don't have much to go on but a few details. I have been trying to remember the brand/manufacturer of a 1/12th scale car that would have been out in the late 80's. I used to race...

I would like to thank Marui Hunter for finding the car I was trying to remember. It was an SG Gemini Slx. Looks almost identical to the Schumacher. There is one on ebay that ends in a few hours if anyone is interested.
I picked up this SG Coyote 2wd buggy i have always liked them and they have a interesting chassis design. I have not seen to many of them around and have been wanting one for a while. Heres some pictures from when i got it, then i decided to strip...
