Grabbed this Last week off an awesome local seller.
Never had a PB before, always coveted an Ace, but never seen one in the flesh so the maxima was hard to resist.
Looks in pretty good shape as promised, needs some hubs and the driveshafts/bearings...
After information and if possible loads more pictures of the PB ACE Prototype, the mid motored version that was trialed but never made it into production. Very interested in this car . I’ve seen one mag article on the prototype if I can’t find a car...

That's looking spot on , don't know how I missed seeing this sooner , good job :!:
Thanks been busy with house extension bits and bobs of DIY but i'll get back to the hobby room and prototype soon. Need to get the plates made up in Ally so it...
The PB Mini Mustang was quite the performer back in the mid to late 80's here in Australia and around the world. With a single belt driven 4WD chassis this car was legendary at my old club. I feel the car was revolutionary for its time with cool...

That looks great matey - very very tidy. In my experience the Pb cars were excellent on flat carpet and tarmac tracks, which is why i think some of them have survived in such great condition. I know my Maxima was raced almost entirely on carpet as...
Thought I’d share a picture to the group of a Mini Mustang I had as a kid back in roughly 1989 I reckon, body was a bit different.
I bought the car as a kid secondhand from a local bloke who had bought but not gotten on to well. I stripped and...

As has been mentioned above... use a modern sponge insert to reduce or remove the flat spot.... unless it is for the shelf, in which case, it is only flat on the bottom!!!
The Dynamite tyres were overlooked in the UK a little i think, which is...
Back in the late 80's I was invited to join a team from one of my local clubs to race in a Jimmy Davis-sponsored 24hour charity race at the (UK-famous) Donisthorpe track. The club was Perry Common Buggy Club and at that time, in around 1986-7 the...

I hadn't seen your other thread until now but I saw the car on ebay with the gold Brimods. I did think about bidding on it but am not really looking to add any cars to the collection as it's at 17 now & any more will cause me storage issues....
I've been looking for a PB Mini Mustang for a while and this one came up on E bay hidden by a Ferrari Testarossa body and just listed as Vintage RC Car , looks like it may be one of the ECO versions as it has plastic bushings on the diff out drives...

Hpi added a one way to the clutch portion which allowed brakes, but also caused it to shred every tooth off the spur if you ever tried to roll the car backwards. I bought a nova two speed a while back that advertises forward and reverse operation...
My barn-find PB Mini Mustang 4WD needs drive shafts.
I bought some driveshafts off eBay; 65mm with 3mm pins and got halfway through grinding the pins down to fit
the 'stang's coupling but there has to be a better way. I was running out of...

You're welcome for the link, Chris. Keep in mind I had that link to that specific part because it looked like the PB Mustang's dogbones were very close to the Shogun's. There are a lot of different dogbones available on AliExpress.com, but it takes...
I'm rebuilding my PB collection to become runners and would like to put new belts on. Does anyone have part numbers for both belts and where to buy them from?
So I just posted up about my recent Yokomo 870c score, but in fact I managed to pick up a total of 5 cars this evening; the Yoke, my original CAT XL from the late 80's, an Associated RC10L road car, an original Sand Scorcher, and also this, a rare...

Super rare score today! This is the elusive Pb Maxima front bumper and mount set. I have been looking for the piece top left for over 12months and they are generally considered impossible to find. Amazingly this auction was for 2 sets!!...
I'm Arthur from Taiwan.
I also have a PB MUSTANG in good condition (two speed gear version).
But recently I want to break down the center axis but unfortunately high speed gear cannot be removed, it is stocked....

Sure, it is cool of automatic two speed gear transmit.
So happy when I make the two speed gear function work. :D
I'm clueless about your technical issue, but I applaud you for keeping the old Mini 'Stang alive
Hi,
Here is my PB Maxima in good shape, just need to be cleaned and change some small things like screws.

Hi Jason,
I 've never driven this car and I don't know if the dampers are effective, but I believe in your experience. If I found PB Ace dampers that would be just for the look :)
I bought a well used Mini Mustang january this Year. The guy I bought it from has had it from new, and been club racing it for 4 seasons at a local Danish club.
It was in a bit of a rough shape when I got. The chassis was divided at the rear and...

I actually had BIG plans for that chassis but somehow forgot to bid
Here is my restored Mini Mustang. It's not perfect, but as close as I'll get due to the rarity of the parts. I always wanted to get hold of another PB as the PB Eco Mustang was my first serious RC car. Back in the day it was fitted with Supershot...

That is real purty..
I love the body colours, and Super Shot gold wheels..
Thank you Stumpy
Got this body with a certain pan car some time ago. The previous owner did a bad paint job to the body but otherwise it´s near new as the car and very rare. I know what body this is but thought it might a good idea not just showing brand or type but...

Yes it is. :D
According to PB, full name of the body is PB Elfin Cavan.
Hi , I send some pics of my resto on a ACE PB Racing 1990.
Handmade product , and rest to make a mould of the body and undertray.
Bye PRP.

Having built, rebuilt, driven and slightly modified both Mini Mustangs and Maximas I can honestly say they aren't a bad rig. There were some definate weaknesses but with those now addressed I am proudly confident in saying these cars work well.
Even...
Im noticed this come up on an action site here in Japan.
I don't know much about circuit racing, but I do remember this car
mostly because i was pining for a PB Maxima at the time. Looks
like its in nice condition. You certainly don't see many of...

One version with horizontal shock mount, and one with vertical mount, who work well.
Well, I am ashamed to say that I have been holding out on these for the past several weeks, mainly because I feel that I paid way too much for them. At the time, I justified it in my mind by the rarity and condition. I know that these cars...
I got this in a lot.. :? It looks to be new built there is no sign of wear..

Just found this old thread. This car is a Demon Products MF1. Demon Products is a small brand from the UK.
The car was released in 1983 and was made by PB for Demon Products.
PB sold the car overseas so sometimes you can find PB as the brand for...

Here's my PB Maxima. Its had a few small mods which I felt the car required but also helped me with running modern electrics such as batteries.
The last time I drove this car on the race track there were puddles and some serious MUD! The rear gear...

I'm guessing the short steering rods, and their offset to where the front arms angle up, are going to have some effect also on the behaviour while cornering.
But Jason's right, I'm looking at it with maybe too much of a crititcal eye.
Just doing...
I must admit I felt inspired when I came across this site with all the history of RC Cars on display for all to see. I too grew up with RC Cars in the 80's and although in my mid 30's now I have just recently returned to the hobby...

I've had this old car sitting around for years and figured I might as well show it off. It has never seen the track and was recently damaged in a recent move. Which I realized as I set it on the ground and discovered the axle has a stress fracture...
