Has anyone found a readily available replacement for the larger red seals? I know that the rear CVA shocks on Blitzer models used them but I don't know about other models. I figure that with all of the larger bore shocks out there, something is...
I have no idea on these so i thought i would post them up on here. I have recently started gathering parts for a cool old Hotshot build, maybe two, and one of the cars arrived this morning. It has some aged looking front steering hubs in silver...

Possibly TMS (TRADE MODEL SUPPLIES) I had them on my Hotshot back in the day but I cannot be sure as my memory of exactly what they looked like is hazy :? TMS also did all steel dog bones and a steel hex one piece prop shaft .
OK, so i have had this for quite some time but having contacted Rory's parents who sold the car they have said they are happy for me to post up some pictures of it. Rory was a very very successful racer back in the late 80's and early 90's and won...

G'day guys I finally got myself a Bigwig. When I saw this for sale, I did some research & found that it seemed to be a bit hit & miss model for Tamiya. i found more negative comments than favourabel ones. But, despite, I could not get over the...

I did a silly thing and lost the prop shaft out of my rere Bigwig and can't find another, anywhere, except eBay, for $60. :(
Do the alloy re re Hotshot prop shafts fit right in a Bigwig?
Thanks!
Hi all.
Is this a grasshopper 2 or a hornet? The rear shock has prefloat like a hornet, but it came with the larger wheels of a later model buggy.
Cheers for your help

Judging from the rear body mounts, I'd say its a Hornet with a Grasshopper body. The front wheels appear to be from a fox and have tamiya super gripper tires. The rear tires are standard Hornet tires.
The Euro Truck class is gaining popularity fast at my local racetrack. I picked this up earlier this week and will start racing it this weekend. Pretty cool class. Cheap to get into it too. I already had servo, radio and transponder from other...

The Euro Truck class is pretty big around here on the oval. I haven't gotten into yet, though. All I know about it, is that winning is all about tire prep.
Hello.
Achieved a dream last November, and got The Bruiser. As a Birthday present from the Wife :D
In preparation, i searched on builds, and found a couple of good threads online.
Then, after building it, and using it, I wanted to make...

I always loved/wanted a Bruiser. I'll never forget when I was a kid of about 13-15 yrs old in the mid 80's when my Dad's friend brought his Bruiser over to show us. I feel in love with it soon as I saw it (all I owned at the time was a Hornet &...
Does anyone know if there are any readily available wheels that I can use to convert an Astute to a truck?
Last post
how about tamiya king cab/ monster racer, bush devil 1, blackfoot extreme or super, or non tamiya imex. factory works on ebay also has some 2.2 trucks wheels for the blackfoot it may fit astute.
I was one of the select few who signed up on buying a conversion kit from Full Option (UK) which is run by the very talented David Beeby. The kit was supposed to be a pretty accurate copy of the Egress that Jamie Booth ran in part of the 1990 BRCA...
I would like to buy re-release of Super Champ, but all stocks were gone. Do you guys think that there is a chance to re-re-release in the future? Not understand why other SBRs are continue to produce but Tamiya stops producing this legend product....

The Buggy Champ (Rough Rider) remained discontinued and last year we saw a new batch. I have a feeling we will see a new batch of Super Champ eventually.. hopefully in 2021
I've been wanting to do one of these for ages , now I'm getting started I've realized i know more of what i don't want than what i do ! :? So this is going free style :D

I was just browsing Ebay and i came across a Tamiya Striker that was listed at £550 so i thought i'd have a look expecting to find something with some nice period Mod parts , maybe one of the rare Tamiya Mod motors or a Thorp diff or something but...

I think the Striker is interesting looking RC , and would like to find a clean used one .. but not at the prices asked now.
The same seems to be happening with Falcon prices - through the roof.
Hey, I was wondering if someone on here with an FF03 chassis could do me a favor and measure the front overhang, I can't seem to find any dimensions online.
I'm looking at a 257mm wheelbase body, with an 80mm center of front wheel to nose overhang....
Does anyone know if some of the Re-Re parts are interchangeable with the vintage counterpart. In particular, the Fighting Buggy and the Super Champ , and the vintage and re-re of the Sand Scorcher. Particularly the suspension parts.
Does anyone have a scan (or could do me the favor to scan) the fitting instruction sheet that came with some of the rear anti-roll bars kits for the SRB, made by CRP and RCH?

Hi, new to the forum and in need of help please.

I’ve been making good progress on the Scooby during the virus lockdown. The car is basically finished, I’ve just a couple decals to fit onto the wing sideplates and to paint and install the side mirror. I’ll post pics when it’s finished.

Here now the story of my Tamiya Boomerang or how Tamiya influenced my childhood:
Cars were always my favourite toy. When my father bought his first RC car 1989 (Tamiya Thunder Shot for 370 DM ~ 200Us$ at that time), it was apparent, that I need...

Brilliant interpretation of the boomer, love the air scoop and spotties, great job
Does anybody have a picture of the crp front suspension for the hornet installed? I just bought it for my hornet, and I can;t figure out how to install it.
Last week I came across a very lightly used Tamiya Hornet re-release on Facebook marketplace and decided to contact the seller. The only vintage Tamiya car I’d ever seen before in person was a pal’s Sand Scorcher back in the 90s (which at the time I...

I say you got a heck of a deal. Tamiya vendors are now selling near msrp and a hornet is going for $130+ here in the states. Nice find!
I just finished restoring my brothers old Futaba FX10, which as I understand it is mechanically a clone of the Tamiya Striker. The guy at the hobby shop said I was being stupid to try to get it running and all the plastic would be brittle, it would...

TamiyaCowboy, I just sent you a PM. Everyone else thank you for your help.
I happened to be browsing Tamiya's US site and found this:

Horizon has it listed as discontinued while other major online sources are out of stock on this model.
The Mountain Rider appears to be sold out everywhere.

I've decided to pass on this one but I'm very happy for those who have seized the moment and taken advantage of the Bruiser's price drop.
I wish I could have anticipated that Tamiya was going to drop the price to a level that is more reasonable.

These are the parts you’ll need “Hop up option 53111 damper spring spacer set”. They were only used on the Evo and Dyna Storm as far as I know. I got lucky on finding this set earlier in the year for my Evo replica.

Ah, I didn't know he did that. Now I'm curious if it actually needs to be done or not. I think you can get away with not doing it but the only way to know for sure is to just run it with the o-rings and see if the dogbones fall out or not. I mean...

Hey guys. I am an old skool RC guy. Still have my Wild Willy I build back in 1982. Been restored a couple times. I elaborate on it's history a little in the Welcome area if you want to read it. He's been through a lot over the past 36 years. Here he...
Tamiya's rereleased their SRB diff with a new part number 54897. From the pictures it looks to be identical to the 84113 diff. At least the crazy prices these things fetch will stop....... for a while. :D

Thanks for letting us know. Sounds like nothing was changed. When I saw the new part number I hoped that it was going to be a new design. A diff with a bent through bolt like MIP or Thorp would have been great.
I have a couple new Tamiya kits that include this motor and was wondering if they require any kind of break-in procedure -- the manual doesn't mention it.
I'd like to run the cars in box-stock configuration and want the best possible performance...

With a little trimming you can use df03 knuckles and cut the drive cups of some axles to get hex fit front wheels on these.
Had this given to me a few years ago, so decided it was time to give it some life, by restoring/rebuilding it. It’s what some would refer to as a Mk 1, but Tamiya never really had a specific change in their kits, rather they just made rolling...
