Hello all,
I am working on assembling a DS conversion and have some questions on what options are available for axles, hubs and drive shafts.
I am looking at the stock parts, but would welcome suggestions on subbing in easier to source parts that...

I believe the rc10 and 10t universals are coming first, they were asking me to double check measurements just last week on the DS uni’s. Hard to say for sure but maybe shoot them an email (I talk to them mainly on Facebook messenger).
I think I read somewhere on here that someone had a B4 top shaft in a RC10 stealth trans, but maybe I miss read it. :?
Is this possible, and if so is this to help with added stress from brushless motors?
Does the B4 top shaft gear have the same...

Does anyone know if the custom works 4475 out drives fit the rc10t2 diff/trans case?
Last post
Looking at photos of them, they look to have a flange on them that is wider than what is needed for a t2 transmission where the outdrive bearings sit. So they look like they won't fit.
Hello. Would anyone have any idea of what brand this shock tower could be? It's fiberglass, extended for use with .89 shocks, and measures .097 thick. My first thought was Jay Dub but his I think were made of G10, and only had two holes for the...

Not mine, we don’t have the extra camber link holes up that high.
I was completely unaware this part existed but while browsing through the parts for the Losi 22.5 based drag car, I found these CVA axles.
For anyone who is has struggled with the CVA bone-to-outdrive engagement for the AE Worlds car re-re, notice...
Last post
Yeah, you're right. With Losi's bearing placement and metric size, the axle definitely isn't gonna drop into an AE hub carrier so it probably doesn't warrant further investigation.
Still, wouldn't it be nice if it were possible to modify (or make?)...
I'm finally getting down to finish building my World's Re-re and found that one of my front shocks has a malformed thread. AE show the part # 7438 as being discontinued. Is there an alternative part that I can get for this? Or will I...

Thanks. They are pricey but I guess I have to grin and bear it as I'd like my car to be 100% original.
Full model of an RC10 is now available on grabcad in SolidWorks 2019 and .step formats. Here's a link.
I had to make some models of the shocks and front wheels for some projects I'm working on, and was also re-assembling a recent Ebay purchased...

Ok, I see you all are talking about different types of 3d printing than I was thinking, which would explain the costs you're talking about. It's all becoming clear, lol.

The snap rings from the Traxxas 2362 rebuild kit fit.
Several of the plastics can be used as well, if you ream the ID from 3mm to 1/8 . The bottom cover is particularly useful, as the originals tend to get damaged.
I seem to have a leftover RPM topshaft..will it work in a standard 2.25????? :?

Just a couple thoughts on the topic...
I believe that as a pair of gears rotate, their teeth fall into and out of engagement one tooth at a time.
So, adding teeth to a gear doesn't necessarily result in a stronger gear.
Gears break because...
I recently had some parts anodized and came away with some notes. I could be completely wrong as this is what I pieced together from my experience and internet research.
Anodizing is a process that creates a chemically and physically protective...

Prep work is key to having the desired finish. If you won't a shiny piece after anodizing then polish it to a mirror finish before anodizing. Also a super fine 000 steel wool is good to help polish as well as a metal compound and never dull will...
I'm considering a 4wd project and the initial plans depend on being able to replace the 6571 top shaft with a new shaft that's extended on the non-slipper end for the addition of a drive pulley. I either need to be able to remove and reuse the gear...

To convert the top shaft to metric you either have to ream the bearing hole to a 10mm diameter or add some tape around 5x9mm bearings:
Since the B4 top shafts have become unicorns and the whole industry has gone metric I was wondering on how you guys would try to ream the Ø 3/8 inch (= 9.525mm) bearings seats of the gearbox top shaft bearing location to Ø 10mm. That is an...

So, instead of harming a stealth case I first tried some electrical tape around the 9mm bearings.
If there’s no difference, why then would they mark the header card 10T? Clearly a later header logo, time period?

The 6565 is the correct case for app early 2.25 Stealth vehicles. The Worlds re-re used a different case and idler gear but the early parts are generally considered better.

Running a 54T 32P AE spur. The B4 RTR manual recommends 9.57 as FDR for a 19T motor (I think the original Radon 17T was stock in that car). A 54/10 would be in that neighborhood for the six gear, does that sound about right? I'll most likely run...

I have been researching 10mm shock design for a build I am doing and I ran across a chart from petitrc.com that compares some of the common pistons for 10mm across brands.

Were there Team Associated v2(10 mm) shocks that came before the v2 (12 mm) big bore?

Yes v1 and v2 are essentially the same. The seal end is changed slightly from the first bottom load to top load to bottom load with a cap. The seal is the same just held in place differently. The threaded bodies helped ride height setting tuning....
Hey all this is related to my attempt to build the 2016 rc10T stock racer
My goal is to build a truck that is runs and handles like the original build. However shocks and springs are expensive so I want to understand the differences.
There is...

Most short course truck shocks will be approximately the same length as 10T shocks.
Smaller bore shocks are typically more responsive than big bores, but big bores seem to be better suited to rougher terrain and heavier vehicles.
I am at the cleaning part of my build and I am down to working on the steel.
Right now I have all of the steel parts sitting in a small amount of automotive degreaser.
Is there some kind of short cut for cleaning and polishing ball studs? Right...

I drilled and tapped a nylon block to clamp in my vise. It holds 8 ball studs. I use my dremel with a wire brush. I can do all the studs in about 10 minutes. It used to take me a couple hours and sore fingers to do them before.
Found these in one of my parts buckets. Got them in a collection somewhere and never paid attention. Package had been opened and restapled with the card inside. Are these actually What the card says? If so, how do they work with no attachment point...

AE changed the rear arms, it was a running change. You must have the early arms, so at that point I’d go for the kit that matches dimensions. The worlds will have the shorter pins.
I have a bunch of 10T cases, and Worlds Car cases. They look similar, except for the bolt bosses: 10T's are recessed, WC's protrude. Anybody substitute these cases?

The black screws are available as well. So you don’t have to strip them. If you want a silver color the 4-40 screws are available in steel.
I've been collecting hardware for RC 10's for a year! I would appreciate a source, like a manufacturer (so I can get a bunch of them) .

If all else fails, you can use a stock aluminum chassis pan for a template. Just bolt-on your graphite chassis using the rear suspension mounting holes and drill the four tranny holes.
If you need a cheap stock chassis to use for a template, here's...

Bringing an old thread back up. I was rebuilding a set of bottom loaders and had to use a Traxxas 2362 kit for some parts. All the original plastics were galled in, so I damaged them while fighting to get them out.
While looking at the pieces of my Kyosho 2014 Beetle, I noticed that the front wheels used 8mm od bearings. Seeing that 8mm is nearly identical to 5/16, I put some old 5/16 X 3/16 bearings in and put them on a RC10 axle.
The Kyosho wheel is a...

Doing a little research revealed that the Turbo Scorpion uses the same steering assembly and 8mm od bearings as well. It also appears that it uses a 12mm hex rear wheel.
So, this may turn out to be another 2.2 wheel option.
I got 2 sets of rc10 arm mounts in a lot purchase. Unfortunately they were drilled out for bearings like the Quarter Flash arms. Has anyone ever seen the arm mounts done by them? I know I haven't. I also know doing this is not hard.... I've done it...

You can't rule out that they are 'home-made' but I am 99.9% sure they are Quarter Flash items. I have a set of the front and rear arm mounts on my Fibre-Lyte RC10. Definitely cool pieces but the stock arm mounts work just as well imo

Thanks for the reply Elf,
