I can't personally vouch for the XP stuff. If it is indeed made by LRP, I'd say it would be allright as long as the motor limits are adhered to. I have a sneaking suspicion that they are made by Thunder Tiger and not LRP, seeing as they are...

for $35 each the turnikey packs are great. i have 4. you cant even get good nimh packs for that. i get excellent run times with them. i wouldnt even consider buyin a nimh pack again.

As far as mods go, I have always liked Trinity SpeedGem series. Pretty sure they are still available. Recently had bad luck with the Venom series.

gear it down some, 26/78 is a much different ratio on an RC10 than an SC10, even with the trans ratio being lower in the SC10, the tire size on a short course truck will really kill it, monitor your temps too, make sure you're not getting...

you should be able to run a 2S lipo in pretty much any esc, the only problem with the lipo is you need to either make sure the esc has a lipocutoff alarm, install a small lipo alarm, or pay close attention to the cell voltage.

just be careful when resoldering new wire into a speed control, some of them have multi-layered circuit boards which can pose a problem if you dont re-solder all they way through, try to get the heat on and off as quick as possible as surface mount...

None of my Nimh battery's are top of the line. When I first received the charger I just just performed a discharge/charge cycle and it seemed to wake up the batteries better than my Integy Peak charger...

One thing you could do is to make an antenna loom .
Take a scrap piece of lexan and drill holes in it to take up the extra antenna. Drill the holes so that when you thread the wire through it makes a zig zag pattern.
