Bought this cheap body on ebay to put on my vintage RC12L and used some spare stickers from a BMW body from HPI that I had lying around. Just thought I’d share.

I got it for a good price on ebay. It was a bit of an impulse buy. Its clean but the tires are a bit chewed on the outside edges. I’m not sure where to get new ones since the hubs have a peculiar mounting pattern. I planned running it in the house...
Hi, can anyone advise the best method for achieving clean looking window frames.
I see many bodies that look really professional with a neat black or coloured boarder to the windows, but I always struggle with this.
Thin tape applied on the outside,...

I haven't tried this technique yet, but I read somewhere a tip where you place 2 X-Acto blades inside the same handle with some cardboard or something to make a space between them, then use that to score lines in your liquid paint mask. It might not...
Is there anybody on the forum who can make copy's of lexan body's or gear covers ? Or a company that does it ? I have a Hirobo Zerda primary belt cover (gear cover) new and uncut that's getting quite scarce , I was just thinking it might be worth...

The way most would do it is with plaster of Paris. Problem is, it shrinks. I forget the percentage amount, and I should actually know it since I use it to pop molds for lead sailboat bulbs. POP is cheap enough to make a low production count cast....
Might not be a big deal, but I restored a 30+ year old Wild Willy. The only decal I have always loved, and thought is just a part of this particular car, is the club suit decal. I did not have high hopes, but was able to lift this 30 year old decal,...

This is fantastic! I always liked the clover decal on these. How does it run?
Can anyone tell me what paint I should use to match the colors of the RC10CE manual art body? Especially for the pink and orange. I know that the answer is completely subjective. We will never know exactly what paint was used. I’m sure some of you...

just order the decal set from MCI...go inverted and apply decals under the body before paint. looks like perfect paint afterwards.
heres mine on a new b6.2 body
Can a lexan body be painted on the outside and made to look decent??

Picking up on what's already been said, I guess it depends upon your expectations. I've had mixed results with the few I've tried but I'm always striving for a shiny appearance.
It is possible to apply a clear coat to improve the shine if that's...
I'm possibly the world's biggest decal whore.
I have two drawers full of mainly Losi sheets.
I was the guy who paid $160 for a XX4 sheet off eBay...and then bought the second set the guy had for $60.
Don't regret it at all.
I've finally motivated myself to get my Coyote painted. It's only been six years.
Paint is from Tamiya spray cans. Gun metal, metalic orange and bright silver plus black for the rear louvre. Once again I used the AYK Boost as inspiration....
I am restoring my son's 1993 RC10 B Stamp. It is going to be a tribute car for him as he passed away December of 2018. I would like to have the bodys theme be that of a P-51 Mustang he custom built (see pic below). I am looking to get a list of good...

Going to do a new body for my son's RC10 Kit #6011 I Gave him for Christmas in 1993. I had a Sidewinder body #6161 I had purchased as I did a really bad job on the orig body. I have Air Brush experience in painting RC Boats but not Lexan. I need a...

In addition to the Pro-Line suggestion, there are many choices for airbrush paint for Lexan bodies, including Parma's FasKolor series, Spaz Stix, Createx, AutoAir...and probably more. 8) The water-based ones are nice to use, no fumes and easy...
Kind of a special project I’ve had in mind for 15 years or so, I don’t want to give too much away, but I’m curious who is doing the best early 90’s masami paint and graphics these days?
Hi all, not sure if i have posted this in the correct section or not, but I need some advice.
I have purchased a set of n.i.p yokomo yz10 white wheels, but I want to dye them black. I have never tried this before so am after some advice on how to,...

They will appear black. Under certain light conditions you can see some shading but it's very hard to see.
Real yokomo wheels should be dyeable with no problem.
Hi Everyone.
Dug out my old RC10 truck conversion from 30 years ago and was thinking of getting a new body since the old one has cracks.
This is what the current body looks like - I prefer this style with the sloped/smooth back and can't seem to...

You just missed one on eBay about a month ago haven’t seen one since or before.
Ah... okay. Thanks for the tip. Will have to keep an eye out but sounds like it's not easy to find.

I am going to be airbrushing the body for my restore of a RC10 B stamp Kit 6011. I have an airbrush and know how to use it but need to know what brand of paint is good for the lexan bodies? Kind of would like to get a list together of what I will...

OK, I know, they don't have the tenacious grip and hard finish on the lexan that Tamiya PS paints and other polycarbonate paints offer.
I think they bond quite well to Lexan when you back the final paint job with FasKoat, Krylon or Rustoleum Clear...
Hi guys I have one of these Bolink open cockpit TOJ bodies but was wondering if they have driver figures for these or are they meant to not have anything there.
Thanks
Jake.

They were supposed to have a driver figure fitted within the racing rules. There were driver figures available but where you can get them now i've no idea.
I have a bunch of old lexan bodies that are in rough shape. I was going to scrape off the old paint (lots the paint is crumbling on its own) sand it and then repaint it. Can you use paint stripper or just paint the top?
I know it will be hazy...

I tried goo be gone graffiti remover in a can and that was a nightmare, after that episode id rather pay big bucks for a body if I really want it that bad.
Just finished up airbrushing this body for a friend's Son's Rc race buggy so he can give it to him for Christmas. Did a real nice metallic blue with a torn metal effect that looks like it's ripping back to reveal a checkered flag underneath. Also...
I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it. What's the deal with sending in a body to get copied? From memory you send in an uncut body and you receive 3 in return? I wish they had a proper website instead of just ebay.

Awesome, thanks!! That's the one I am looking for.

I do both practice and races with mono-colored bodies

I'm working on a mid motor RC10 rerelease, but i need to choose a body. I'd like to try to use a modern looking body (even if it is an ugly cab forward design) because it would fit the profile of my chassis better.

The jconcepts detonators do have a nice cab shape that works well with a mid motor tub. They are rather narrow up front to fit to the tub closely.

This is probably an odd question, but I just picked up a T5M roller, and there aren't any bodies for it that I don't hate. I was curious if there's anybody here with an RC10GT who also has a T5M that would be willing to set the body on it and see...

This sounds like something I would do. If I had a T5M I would let you know but unfortunately I do not.
As a guess the early tub GT body would most likely be too short and too narrow in the shock tower area, the longer blue chassis GT bodies would...
Going on my Worlds Car or CE for driving at the track. I thought the Charcoal stripes were going to lighter and could have done without them, but overall I like it. Was trying to go for the Mohito! of the new Jeep Wrangler JL's.

Nice! It looks very close to AE's gold ano.
I've always had best results with the airbrush using less air pressure and thinner paint. It will require more coats to completely cover and provide the opacity your looking for however.
Picked up a big box of airbrush parts and paints at a garage sale today for $10. Quite a few bottles of faskolor and spaz stix paints, which I'm familiar with, and a bunch of paints that I'm not, primarily Spectra Tex and Testors Aztek. Both of...

Yeah, unfortunately most of the info online is about the airbrush and not the paint. I might just have to test it myself.
Hope this may be of interest.
I tried hydrodipping for the first time.
Saw a bunch of youtube videos and went for it.
I think the results were OK.

I was messing with designs on my new body, and finally drew one up, so I pulled the masking off, and it left a nasty residue. I went to grab the Goo gone, and accidentally grabbed the goof off. Now the body is partially hazed in one of the most...

It's not a total waste if you're not able to correct the problem. Just paint the outside and use the body for a runner. Just prime using polycarbonate paint then top it with rattle-can enamel or whatever you may have on hand.
Looks like I did a good enough job painting the Masmai bodies for David a while back. Now, its time for me to replicate some other schemes, like these one, an Associated manual art scheme that was done BITD in red and white with shades of gold...

That is impeccable work! You have a real talent. I am going to send you a PM to see if you may be interested in painting some bodies for me.
Thanks! You aren't the only one, these gems followed directly after for EvilAsh
I can't find any good references on priming or painting nylon.
Has anyone had any luck or experience?
Tamiya had a special primer for polypropylene, nylon, FRP and other similar materials.
It seems to be discontinued.

The wheels are jcracingproducts wheels.
At least a few others here on the forum have used them. They are very nice 2.2 wheels that are a direct fit for 1/4 tapered axel rears and the fronts work with 3/8 x...
I've been carefully trimming and mounting a body and have come to the part where I have problems/mess up... the front post. I don't want to mess up at this point because it's coming out really nice.
Can you guys give me some tips and or help?

And even better yet, does someone happen to have one NIB? I know that’s probably a longshot but I love the lines of this old-school Monstertruck body....

I thought you could only make a mold from new bodies that haven't been cut out yet.
I was planning on taping any holes up and reinforcing them. Once the plaster of paris dries, sand away.
