What is the rarest R/C part you have

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

What is the rarest R/C part you have

Post by Dangeruss »

Admittedly I don't have a lot of unicorn eyelash type stuff. But pretty sure when you can't find the thing for sale anywhere online, you can officially call it rare.

So... what do you think is the rarest R/C part you have?

I like to think the Chunky RC10T front tires I have would make the list...

It isn't a part, but the rarest RC thing I have is probably my "Team Schumacher USA" hat. I got out of RC to go drag racing shortly after buying it back around 94/95. It is a white hat, from a not-too-popular brand (in the US), doesn't even have the proper logo, meant to be worn at dirt tracks, and nearly 30 years old, so I can't imagine there are very many left.

My Novak RC Analyzer is the rarest item I have. It came from a hobby shop in Portage, Michigan and the manual is a copy of the manual from another near by hobby shop in Michigan, so I know there's at least one more of them out there.

Over the years, I've accumulated more than a few very rare items, but not sure how to define "how rare is rare?"...

My Lucas Agitator Pro-10 was pretty rare to begin with, but throw in the LiteSink and pair of Sees wheels, not to mention a full set I tracked down later, and it becomes even more rare.

Other Sees and JPS wheel sets that I've sourced for my Optima builds are also among the rarities.

Some Kyosho Option House hardened final pinion gears, and a similar gear from Thorp, are also pretty rare.
Completed projects: CYANide Onroad Optima | Zebra Gold Optima | Barney Optima | OptiMutt RWD Mid
Gallery - Coel's Stalls: Marui Galaxy & Shogun Resto-Mods | FrankenBuff AYK Buffalo | 1987 Buick GNX RC12L3

Mine would be this set of NDN aluminum JRX2 front spindles. I was told approximately 20 were made.

Would be even more impressive if you had a matching 1625 bumper in white and a 1987 gear cover in white😂

How about this?

Rare because
1. It's a unique body design;
2. It's a body I painted, with more than one colour; and
3. It's a completed project. At my house. Completed by me.

I mean, I could talk about the Schumacher Daytona nitro pan car, or the Nitro 4x4 (engine-powered Bosscat), but where's the fun in that? :P

The Ron Paris tuned pipe on my GT box art build. Many others have searched as well. The only one I’ve seen to exist is the one I have.

PS, I’m looking for a NIP one to replace my scratched pipe……..

A MIP 4X custom chassis plate that I believe was built and engraved by Eustace Moore Jr (founder of MIP) in 1985, but this isn't confirmed.

A set of pristine yz-834b gears or a running Ishipla Monster , neither are really rocking horse manure though .

Well, I guess my Nichimo Spirit or "Marui" modern Hyper Wheelie Mitsubishi Jeep may qualify as rarest parts of my collection... But that's different from genuine vintage parts and in this category, I don't think I have parts that rare...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

I have an unbuilt X-Factoty X6sqared Ellis Stafford one of only about 20 kits that were made after his BRCA national championships wins. Unfortunately I don't know how to put pics on here.
