I've just ordered a set of printed gears for the holiday buggy , SLS printed in Nylon P12 for testing , should be with me in about a week and if they are good I'll add them to my Shapeways shop .

I've just fished cutting up the Holiday Buggy chassis for 3d printing on an Ender 3 size bed , I've smoothed the bottom of all the little ridges and separated the front bumper fittings as a separate part , the two main parts are connected with four M3 screws, two from under the steering servo position and angled upward 45 degrees and one either side of the chassis angled downward , the angles make it easy to install the screws , allow longer screws for greater security and also hide the screws away somewhat .

the bumper fitting can also be attached from inside using M3 screws .

Test print of front end , its low resolution 0.28 layer height and I'm using up some ancient PETG but it all lines up , I. Printing the rear now but again using up old filament so it's funky translucent blue and won't be finished till morning .

God I'd forgotten how much I hate PETG. Anyway this is the Holiday Buggy chassis complete , it all lines up nicely but its an ugly low res print and I had a little section at the front of the blue part warp up from the bed while I was out walking the dogs doesn't really matter as its never going to be used except as a proof model.

Just found an error , somehow i had attached the transmission 2mm too low , just taken a while to sort out

I really like when test prints are not the same color than the original parts... It really helps people to sense what we are doing here

I finally found a 540 motor mount for a reasonable price so drew up this gear cover to mach , its a two piece design .

The other day I started Modelling up the Ishipla Monster , the chassis and front suspension is nearly complete .

I've found more manufacturer mistakes in this car than any before , its not uncommon to find one mistake by the manufacturer and for every time I find one I quadruple check to make sure its their mistaken measurement not mine (I'm deeply fallible) but this car ..... a lot of quadruple checks lol.

More pretty pictures and more manufacturer errors found this is the first time I'm trying trying to determine what is poor design and what is poor implementation of the design .

I really like this kind of moment when you see something and in your mind you think "But what the h*** did the designer wanted to do?"

Just finished the gearbox , Lordy There's stuff you just expect to be how things are done , like if there are 4 screws in the corners holding the gearbox together that they will be equally spaced out , no none of that here and for no reason I can see , well maybe with one of them as its also a motor plate screw hole and is related to the bearing for the lay shaft but why not make the other 3 holes accord with that one ......anyway more pretty pictures that are what you came for .
