RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
SEE PAGE 6 AND AFTER FOR NEW BUILD.
Hello to you all! It is with a currently fast pacing heart I give you the news that ive finally gotten myself an RC10! Enough with the talk here are the photos!
Also, here is a lot of parts I purchased as spares/upgrades. Would you folks mind helping identify some or the parts? I can see the C blocks and the springs and such, but the yellow bit in the corner, is that an aftermarket bellcrank? And the bits at the very top right? Sorry for being so stupid bout all this, This will be my first vintage build.
Plans are TBD currently, I have to decide what I'd like to do with this beaut!!
Edit: Does anyone know what the motor is from the sliver that's viewable? I wont get it until sometime late this week or next week, so I can get more pics then, but it sure doesnt look stock.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Woops! That was easy. Did some googling and found out it is a Reedy Revolution. I still dont know if it is in working condition though. If it is, is it worth keeping in it and using?

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Seems like I have almost everything to make this thing a runner! Once it gets here I'll nab the nimh and 2.4g radio from my Slash and test it out!
What would be the best first upgrade? Suspension? Sensored Brushless set up? Stealth Tranny? I need the advice of experts, and those who have worked on these cars for many years.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
I can't tell from the photos but if it still has bushings, first thing I recommend is to install a full ball bearing set -- especially since you're planning to run it. That motor might need new brushes but you won't know for sure until you can test it. Oh, and I guess you'll need a body as well. A body not only looks cool, it also can protect those fragile electronic components from damage. You'll want a manual for assembly and tuning tips, parts identification, etc. (I always like to have manuals for my cars). The manual is available for download here or from many other sites:

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Not knowing what type of paint is on the tub, I'd not start out with an aggressive chemical like paint stripper. Try some denatured alcohol first. This solvent is also my preferred metal part cleaner. If that doesn't work, Acetone. Wear gloves, either one will take the oils out of your skin! Safety mate, always safety!

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Another one I was going to try is Simple Green, is takes the paint off my plastic models (Yeah, ANOTHER hobby) without harming the plastic, So I was gonna try a smaaaaall bit of Simple Green on an area next to a corner, then Alcochol, then if those dont work, I may just strip it and have it Reanodized.NomadRacer wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:37 am Not knowing what type of paint is on the tub, I'd not start out with an aggressive chemical like paint stripper. The seller I bought the RC10 from also has a decent lot of parts I'm planning on purchasing, for more spares since I know something will break.

I wouldn't try simple green, because it probably can affect on the anodizing.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
welcome aboard - the yelow steering is an A&L kit (looks like there's only one third of it though, you're missing the right bellcrank and the link bar). You can find more info here as the current owner of the company is the great @GoMachV

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Is it Possible to get just the missing parts instead of buying an entire kit? Or maybe there are some with slight defects?

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Here's a little update, without actually having the buggy yet.
Ordered another lot of parts, It seems I'm going to end up having enough parts to build another buggy! Hmmmmm...
This should be a fun build!

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
I've also finally decided what to do with this. I'm gonna make it a nice runner, with a modern programmable ESC and High Output brushed motor. Currently bidding on more parts, including bearings and such. ESC I'm bidding on is am LRP Quantum 2, which I believe is the same one they used to race in the newer RC10s. If I could find a chassis, at a decent price, I could have another!

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
I replied to the message but just for others that may read this- the bellcrank parts are not sold separately. The bigger issue is that the fluorescent color parts are long gone. The bigger issue yet is that your missing 2/3 of the kit. The rack bar, the right arm and idler, the hardware set, the posts....there isn’t much to start with there. They may be of more value if sold on eBay and the money put towards a complete set.YakkityYak wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 7:27 amIs it Possible to get just the missing parts instead of buying an entire kit? It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas
