Jeff will you be able to determine your material cost after the wheels are completed? Perhaps by weighing the spool before and after the print.

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
I think there are a few ways to determine it, but at only $17 a spool i'm not really into doing the math haha. I have done a lot of test printing and previous stuff designed by others and i've barely touched the spool

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
Woot! Made it past the first lip. I wasn’t sure how it would handle printing on thin air but it did great. I now feel confident it will handle the next two just fine. Not using support was probably a gamble but it makes such a mess to remove it. I need to study how Dan does his, by building in structures instead of support.
Dan, while I feel like my settings for this particular PLa are good (bed 60, nozzle 215) can you give me some idea of what hotter and colder bed and hotter and colder nozzle would look like in the finished part? It might give me some direction for fine tuning.

Front fit is good. I was having a hard time envisioning this car with 2.2’s, and they are rather large haha

I'm amazed at how nicely those wheels printed. If you're able to do that well with the M200, I can't wait to see what you can do with your good printer.

You had me curious so I drew up the spur. I’ll check it out after the rear wheels finish printing.

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
You are making this look so easy! I hate buying new ink jet/laser printers and figuring out how to install and set them up, so I don't ever see a 3d printer in my future. I'd probably half-a@@ it anyway and then be mad later when nothing prints or works properly. But major kudos on the work you're doing!

Print finished up, it turned out great imo! Still need to clean up the holes and test it, but the tooth pattern and size looks perfect.

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
This one will be going on a direct hub so no problem there, but I can see things getting awful hot in a ball diff. I wasn’t even planning to print a gear but decided to try it. The built in add in for gears made it easy. Just select teeth, pitch, inner diameter, thickness and pressure angle and it forms the gear. It messes perfectly. I like that you can chose imperial pitches and such while drawing in a metric environment. I was afraid I would have some elephant footing but it didn’t. I did need to use support though, so one side of the gear is a little ugly. I did print this one at .1 layer height

Thanks Dan! Man, there’s a lot to learn
Here she is. Wheels are finally finished and spur gear in place. I will print the spur hub too.
