Don't ask me who/why the part numbers have been highlighted, the magazine came that way...

After finding some of these sites just recently I have been bitten by the bug so to speak. I bought a Cougar 2 Works back in May of 1993 from Stormer Hobbies. I remember having my Mom order it for me via a phone call. Internet was not common yet,...

The Schumacher Cougar2 buggy definately is my favourite 2WD buggy. They are light,handle well and go real fast!

Pretty much! Quite expensive over in the UK at at time, and from what the old people who ran TOP Models say they only sold 20kits in total.

It is the bodyshell which was unique to the kit, so impossible to replace.

Nice article, thanks for posting!

I will certainly refer to some of this info in the future,
although there are a couple mistakes - for example:

To increase steering you can move the battery pack forward...
If you're looking for more steering...

Hi guys, I went down in my parents basement today and found something i had almost forgotten!

Its a Cougar 2 works that i remember buying from a friend sometime in the early nineties, wanting an upgrade from my club-10.

It was missing some parts...

The adapter at the far left will be made in nylon and tested before i make any changes. It will make running standard wheels alot easier for me.

I picked this up off of craigslist for a pretty good price. Overall its in ok condition, but the top shaft of the transmission is really jacked up. I dont expect to turn this into a shelf queen, but I would like to make it into a runner.

I never had much luck with those plastic shock seal housings to be honest. They always seem to leak no matter how well I build them.
I am running the purple alloy shock seal housings. They work extremely well!

I got this Cougar 2 works off ebay the other day, hope it will clean up nice.

On closer inspection one of the metal driveshafts has gone and one half of the ballraced steering too :cry:

Hopefully there is a clean chassis under there!

Looking good Richie.... certainly looks much better than when you first recieved it! I wish the u/side of my works chassis looked that clean!

The shell is... urrrrm.... interesting, but kinda well done :?: :|

Newbie to the site, but I have been playing with RC10's since 1987.

I have acquired several early A chassis cars and I want to build a few exactly the same for my kids and I to race on a backyard track.

I want to build 80's style late models...

or, try some bart's aluminum hubs and hoops. get 2 in. rims and use the custom works tires.
