Thanks terry.sc... I figured that out. Looks like David is already in the good graces of the seller! 8)

I think you (Asso_man) should hang onto it. It's sort of a piece of AE history. And it appears that it was a fair deal.

Thanks guys for the help and comments. I think we should really work on a Yokie timeline  It would really help!

Grab those when they are still "cheap", they are well underestimated for now...

Ahhh a posting after my own heart :)

For the record, the fact that you got it for $100 almost made me cry, would have easily paid twice that!! (heck the bodies seem to be the hardest thing to find, that one on its own would be worth about that! lol)
I come for the RC10's but stay for the Yokomo's :P

Mr Lexan,

The Yokomo you have is the 1994 YZ10. Your particular model has many upgrades compared to the stock version (Carbon fibre shock towers and upperdeck, Traction control system, ballraced steering with carbon fibre stiffener, titanium turnbuckles, Associated shocks, aluminium hardware and a few other parts). The original version (on page 1 of this thread with pink wing, pink rims and unpainted body ) did not come with any of these parts.

The YZ10 that Asso_man purchased is called a Yokomo Worlds Car Pavidis Edition and was brought out to celebrate Mark Pavidis' 1995 IFMAR World Championship win. Although similar in appearance to the Yokomo you have, the Worlds Edition has a different chassis (milled out in lots of places to save weight and different battery location slots), different upperdeck mounting positions, milled out front and rear A-arms, Associated shocks as standard, front one-way system, Carbon fibre rear camber mount, different design (although same geometry) carbon fibre shock towers and a few other modifications.

I will provide a Yokomo timeline (from the 1987 YZ870C onwards) tomorrow for you all if you are interested as I am a Yokomo fan and collector.

Thanks.

Would love to see the timeline!!! I am in the same boat and have started collecting Yokomo's and have many many questions :)

One perhaps that you would know off the bat, there was a special front suspension stiff 'kit' or mod that Masami used on his, I could have sworn was a 91' works (although that is a 93' pictured isn't it?) whereby there was two graphite arms mounted above the steering components that were attached by long arms to the....oh nevermind, here is a picture lol

Hi Toaster,

The modification you are talking about was indeed used on Masami's Works 91 car (in prototype form). I have seen that picture in a magazine and it was the car that he used to win the 4wd event at the 1990 Reedy Race of Champions. This modification became a standard feature on the Yokomo Works '93 (like the one you have pictured) and was called a 'Torque Rod Set-up/Stay'. It was supposed to improve front end attitude by not allowing the castor blocks to change angle during acceleration.

The torque rod stay was a fragile part and has not been used on any Off-road Yokomo since the Works '93 (it was used again on one of the YR-4M2J on road cars though).

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, I will be more than happy to offer some assistance in answering them. I will post a timeline of all the Yokomo's that I am aware (with a brief description of each).

Thanks.

I got it today, it's in awesome shape, and not a scratch on the bottom! It came KO Fet servo a nice no limit ESC and a very nice LRP motor. The spoked wheels installed are still glue free and the original black rims are there also. I'll now clean it up as toroughly as I can so stay tuned guys.

Oooohhhh, I feel faint...

Very nice David!

The conflicting decals must be a worldwide phenomenon...

"Uh, yeah, I'd like to thank my sponsors...Tekin, Novak, LRP..." The only thing missing is a big 'ol Trinity decal.
