Re: Which bodies fit which cars
hello All,
Below is what I know about fitting different losi bodies on different cars. The information below is based on the stock un-modified parts (shock towers, arms, etc.).
The x2 body can be made to fit on a jrx pro, but you'll have to do a lot of cutting in the back. The biggest problem is that the top of the x2 shocks fit inside the x2 body, while the pro has the shocks outside the body. I've seen most people just cut off the entire rear. I've also seen people cut a think slot for just the tower, but it looks pretty strange becasue you have these 2 bumps in front of the rear shocks.
The x2 body will fit the same way (as described above) on the pro SE and the jr2 as long as you use the pro rear shock tower.
The pro body will fit on the x2, but you'll have to cut out a slot for the rear shocks when the stock rear shock tower is uerd. Also, it's slightly longer, so you'll have either have some extra material at the rear or at the front.
The jr2 body will fit on pro as long as you use the jr2 or pro SE rear shock tower. You can even use it with the 5 link...a little tight, but it will still work.
The jr2 body can fit the x2 but a slot cut into the body will be needed to clear the rear shocks. Also, the body won't be stable because only about 3/4 inch of the body that will be resting on the stock x2 rear shock tower.
jr2 will fit the pro SE without any modifications
The pro SE body will not fit correctly on the pro, x2 or jr2 becasue it's about a half inch narrower. The chassis would have to be modified or the body will have to be cut short and the chassis will hang out at the side. The 5 link will not fit unelss you want to have the side bulkhead outside of the body.
The standard XX body will fit any of the long wheelbase cars as long as the pro SE or jr2 rear shock tower is used. This will fit on an x2, pretty much the same way the jr2 body fits on the x2.
The proformance body is the same as the pro except the shocks are mounted in front of the rear shock tower. This is probably the rarest body since this was a limited run for the proformance conversion kit. I forget the number, but I thought there were only 500 of these made.
Regards,
Roger
