Highest Amperage Brushed ESC

Post by Dirtdiver »

Does anyone know what the highest amperage (constant/surge) brushed ESC built was? I was thinking it was a PDI Zeta but while looking through the old RC magazines saw the Novak 1x could pull 360/1440 and the SCI Pullman was quoted at 470/1900. I believe the Novak was limited to 4-10 cells while the SCI was good for 4-40 volts. Did anyone use these for drag racing or pulling and how did they perform?

Also the Novak 828-HV. Good for 500/1200. 8 - 28 cells.

I ran a Novak 8-28 in a Top Fuel drag car in the late 80s on carpet. It was a 20-cell car using 10-turn mod motors, and then Astroflight and some other "experimental" 1-hp electric motors. Never failed once and always performed flawlessly. I'm still looking for one for a replica of that car that I have sitting on a shelf at home, if you happen to come across a really clean or NOS one. ;)
