It's neat but judging from the poor sales of the 1/16 Slash. I think this is a dead horse!

Another line of parts to try and find space for! Why didn't they just extend the shaft driven chassis and refine the gear mesh! :x

Associated could have done a better job on the shape of the body. Associated's newly acquired Chinese heritage is showing through. The 1/16 slash at least looks like its 1/10 brother.

I wonder if the front end of the 1/16 snaps/breaks like the 1/10 version.

i'm getting over the short course thing real quick. i like the scale look, but underneath its the same stuff, just with that bigger body.
i can see that the whole 'spirit' of what the slash represented is dying fast, with people now wanting them to handle like t4s.

but they'll probably sell enough to the general public to make the suits & shareholders happy... kinda ot, but does anybody own stock in rc?

axial is getting alot of use out of its scx10 chassis, the latest version and the rtr they released earlier this year are wicked as heck imo.

I agree with the small cars being a dying breed, The local dirt oval I race at started it's life catering to the 1/18 losi vehicles, now it's lucky to get a class. As far as being over the short course thing,,, I like the box stock classes that I run with my slash, I have no desire to modify it, that is a long and unending road. I just take it for what it is, a virtually indestructable rc car to fill my time between the classes I put a lot of work into.

I think in the R/C world (1/8 scale and smaller) you have to choose between scale looks and performance. You can have a little of one and a little of the other but not both. Seems like the more performance you want the goofier the vehicle has to look.

For years i've heard people say "why can't R/C stadium trucks look like actual stadium trucks?" They finally get them and are disappointed with their performance compared to the stadium trucks they're accustomed to.

The only true scale stadium truck is Thunder Tech's. But getting back to what I said above, the more scale it is the worse performing it is. Thats why theirs performs so badly. Not that theres anything wrong with that. The problems with all these trucks are mainly prevalent to the people who are full out racing them.

I agree, our indoor track built a dirt oval, the mini guys came out, but there are 3 or 4 different classes of them so each class gets 3 or 4 on a good night.

1/10th sprint cars have really taken off though, we have 30 on a good night.

Aaaaahhhh crap! I'm about to get passed by that orange truck!

I was looking at it but I dont like belts, the 18t is shaft they should have stayed with that. I have never had a 4wd with a belt I really liked. I like the Slash because of the shaft.

I agree.

The big "A" isn't batting 1000 in the quality & value department lately...

Even Duratrax's latest truck looks better than this...
Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...
