He painted a lot of custom bodies, did a great job with USA flags and candy apple red paint. I think one of his waving flag paint jobs is on one of Associated's gas kit boxes.
i think you solved a mystery for me i think that was one of my fav pics it was a rc ten with a stars and stripes body on one of the rc mags my memory of the mag is hazy maybe rc car monthly i have been looking for that mag for awhile now this is my effort from memory its also my first paint job after twenty years thanks WC1982 :D

Yeah the full weight saver had the fiberglass tray i believe this is the early version. I found some pics of your old car with this style i think i have a idea how it supposed to go :mrgreen: As far as the Chuck august bodies i found a lady with a bunch of stuff and did a little sweet talking. I have 4 bodies total and a wing and about 20 driver figures i will have to post up the pics. She said she was about to throw away most the stuff :shock:

Little progress, Added rear bulkheads/axel/spur gear/tires/and freshly rebuilt motor. Some nip electronics to :mrgreen:

Looking good ryan. Where did you find that old servo saver? I have been looking for one like it for ever with no luck. cool radio gear. I cant wait for the next round of picutres.

Ok i went with my smaller fp-s20 servos much more room and finished up all the electronics. Powered it up and everything went great. Added rear mounts and hand bent all my steering linkage. I decided to paint the rims, rears not done yet :roll: Added my driver and mounted the body also got started on the diorama and painted one of my figures.
