Harley outsourcing?
For all you bikers
Turn on your sound
I can't believe it, but you can really hear a slight difference. Listen to
the American one first (top one)
and then compare it to the one made in India.
It may take you several times

If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.

Re: Harley outsourcing?
Sounds like the Indian version may be breaking up a little bit on the mid-range jetting, I recommend 2 hrs leaner, Has a much smoother idle than the US one and sounds faster, better on fuel and less likely to remove dental fillings. But then again, Harley riders seldom have fillings anyway--

Not sure if it's true, but I think Honda designed the new Harley engine! If so, they had to find some quality somewhere!

Re: Harley outsourcing?
Still, before I was a Carny, I was the Business Manager for the #1 Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki dealer on the east coast. I have been through all 3 factory programs, as well as The Harley Davidson University, Harley doesn't have to outsource-and it will only further set adrift its waning market share anyway, they did it to themselves and so did all the dealers who built brand new shops between 2004-2006, any business (oh, that's right it's because it's whats best for the stockholders
) that doesn't follow real market trends both highs and lows, should fall flat on there faces out of stupidity. Harley has been "riding" the BS "it will be worth more than when you bought it" since 2001, and they knew it was a farce. Yeah a 2009 FLT Dyna is worth more than a 2010 retail once you add 9k in accessories to it-moron. Now that all the baby Boomers have ridden there fillings out and have stopped or moved on to a GL1800 or whatnot, and the Yuppies that trailer there bikes to Daytona for bike week, pull up to the hotel, don there leathers and their "colors" start up the bikes w/o exhaust and make a lot of noise for anyone who cares and then put on their Ralph Lauren chino's and go have a wine spritzer at the bar, have left them for whatever the new trend is, where are they now? Now they are in India where customer service goes to hell?
Hellllo tank ur foor calllling aaat&t mi naaame is Franklin Roosevelt ho mey hi hep yu wit you Mertickle Mr????
So what do you think is going to happen to that nice
American brand motorcycle, well my money says- Harley Davidson Logo, branding and Apparel will become it's own entity in the next 2 years ( because 63% of their gross revnue comes from that segment anyway) and the AMF years will yet be upon Harley again--except this time China will hold the name, and much like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy, they will take junk--and remake junk. Seriously, how many of you out there have ridden both a Harley ______ and a Honda______, Suzuki______, Kawi etc- take what the current day Harley is
and remake it even more cheaply! That is sure to sell more bikes, great idea
Good ole' merica rite there.

I couldn't agree more.
About 20 years ago, my great-uncle switched to a Goldwing and he said that was the best move he ever made. Smooth, quiet, no unexpected breakdowns and as an old man he could ride all day.
