One and only Losi

Post by fastang »

Here's my one and only Losi. I don't know much about these but it appears to be an early JRX2. Maybe you losi guys can tell me by looking at the pics. I got the front end cleaned up last night. OG owner did some grinding on the front BH for some reason? Can't quite figure it out? I need some parts to make it the condition I want it. Mint! See my want add for that stuff. I need to get some misc screws before I tear into the rear end. Most of them are rusted and need to be replaced. I'll head to the lhs for those some time next week. The chassis is almost mint other than the one small scuff where the nose kicks up. Other than that it is perfect. I'll let the pics do the talking and you guys tell me what I need thats not on my wanted list! Thanks guys!
Mike

Question, How does the spur gear attach on these? Does it just key into the drive pin or am I missing a drive plate of some sort? Thanks again!

Wow, NICE early JRX2. No logo on the motor plate, solid rear shock tower... excellent find. Get a body, wing and gear cover from Jay, rear axle spacers and drive pins and a set of orange wheels and tires and you are NOS all the way. I have an original NOS spur gear for you, too. It's in my bin of stuff for the Garage Sale next weekend. :) You can have it—would be a nice fit on this beautiful original.

The spur keys into a drive pin, then is secured by the E-clip on the outside.

Oh, and unless the screws are completely rusted, soak them in WD40 and hit them with a plastic brush, like a toothbrush. You'll be surprised.

I will for sure take the spur! What do I owe you for it? I was going to get one from the bay but didn't know if I needed anything else. Are they 48 pitch?

Thanks dude!

Yes, 48 pitch. I don't want anything for the spur. Someday you might have something I'm looking for. Make a mental note of it. :D PM me your address.

Thanks man! I appreciate it! I do that for others too if I have something they need. I guess its my turn

OOPS!!!

Thanks again! I've been in contact with the guy I bought it from and he may have the orange wheels. Cross your fingers! I think I got a good deal on it although I need a few parts to make it REAL nice. $150 is what I paid for the car and I think I spent maybe $30 so far on parts. The rear BH is all cut out and he used velcro to hold the Battery. I found the correct # early one on the bay so that will get swapped out next week. I have some new chassis screws comming from ao1butal. I HATE when they use the wrong size screwdriver and mark up the screws!!! Other than that one of the bottom 5 links has a scuff and I would like to replace it too but from what I read in another post there were all kinds of different ones and don't want to get the wrong ones. I guess then its get a body kit from lex and put it on the shelf. Its gunna look out of place with all my RC10's  Maybe I can talk my buddy out of his XT so it has a mate

Thanks again!

Mike, that is one sweet find, it's a nice change of pace from the RC10's, you'll get use to it.

I wouldn't sell it but would consider a trade for the right car. CC Worlds rings a bell  What else you got?

I love your JRX2 Eau Rouge.... its one of my 'favourites' on TamiyaClub.com, just so period correct with the electrics etc 8)

Looks like a good score fastang..... especially with that minty chassis - I'm very jealous (its the missing part in my potential new-build project). The cutting away on the front bulkhead might be for the fitting of a front bumper? There was an optional one that fitted between the BH & chassis... as opposed to the later type on the Jrx Pro that screwed beneath the chassis.

Still have it. I don't know what happened to the pics. Seems as though a few of my pics of different cars have disappeared. I'll have to repost them when I get time.

Im still looking for a set of light orange wheels for it. Could use a set of rear tires too. With those parts it would be near perfect.
