hirobo something
I don't recall where I saved the pics of this car before I took it apart
Anyway, The car I have and would like identified is 4WD with the moter behind the wheels. It has a 2 part metal lower chassis and the battery runs lengthwise.
The 2 wheels it still had left were the hilux red plsatic ones with chromed center. Sadly I melted them in acetone
I didn't buy the body with the car but it would not have helped to identify it anyway: it was a kyosho tomahawk body.
I have no idea when I'll find the time to build it, but I'm collecting parts to make a 'what's old but a lot newer now' kind of hirobo something
Hopefully someone can fill in the something part.

Sounds like the Hirobo Rock'n City. Here is a pic. I have the manual if you need it. Could not get it to post. Just send me your Email and I will get it to you.

Could be, though I don't have those side pods along the battery case. Is this a LWB compared to the hilux 44B?

Re: hirobo something
Well I found the sidepods must have been there; before they got cut away by a previuos owner.
Looking at the hilux body I have, I'm inclined to think this one has a longer wheelbase (I can't imagine the battery fitting lengthwise on the hilux).
The car was missing several essential parts but that 's ok: I didn't aim at a restoration. It will be a kind of mutation hybrid when done. Sofar I've been able to tool together a new, wider, rear suspension and a conversion for 12mm hexes. The front shouldn't give troubles either, but I can't be sure till the parts I ordered from kyosho germany arrive.

No, sorry. I stumbled over this wreck by coincidence. As far as parts go, the body for; the hi-lux, and 2 small plastic parts, are all I have seen in the last 15 years outside of Korea. In Korea I found a shop some years ago; stuffed with hirobo stuff, but it is long closed now

That's some of the parts I was missing indeed, but the original carriers only use one bearing: not my favourite concept
I'm just going to have fun and see what I can make out of this without putting much money in it for now.
(Though I have to admit the new kyosho arms cost me a lot more than that auction stands at )
