Frame "sticker"

Post by 1of1547 »

I keep hearing about a large sticker you used to able to buy that protected the bottom of the frame. I've done some searching but can't find anything other than references about them. Never any for sale. Are they a thing of the past? I found out my truck was carpet raced then basically retired. That would explain the reasonably clean frame and I would like to keep it that way.

if i could make a suggestion, why don't you start one thread about your truck and ask all of your questions in there? then you don't have to go huning all over the place if you need to go back to something, and you won't have to start a new thread every time you have a new question.

Well taken, but there is a method to my madness. :D I've learned in my experiences that multipage threads normally get over looked and off track. Case in point, one site that has a Mini/Micro forum that has a Mini T thread that is very long (I think 100+). I just got back into the saddle around Christmas time with R/Cs with two Mini Ts. I did a search and found the big thread. Within three pages of the thread I got tired of looking at every bodies new billet Bling part that they bought and put on. It turned into a look at me thread instead of the useful information that the thread was intended for. At the end of the thread people were asking legitimate questions that fell on deaf ears. I'm not knocking them because everyone is proud of their rides. But the tech stuff fell through the cracks.

The other reason is I put my problem is in the title. That way if a search is needed by myself or someone else the problem is easy to find. And they don't have to dig through 500 pages of every bodies new Bling for the answer. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to find the answer (especially in a rush) and having to dig through multiple threads. The threads that contain the search word normally contain completely different problem or trying to sell the search word. I've had this happen more times than I can remember with my 1:1 car. But every forum is different. If that's not how this forum works, I will gladly change. No need to offend or make anyone mad. I'm just trying to get some information to put my T back together correctly.

J concepts chassis protection material comes in packs of two sheets, each sheet big enough to cover RC10 chassis easy.It is quite cheap and is made by 3m so it's good stuff.

+1 on the Jconcepts stuff, it's crystal clear and it doesn't leave a bunch of sticky mess when you pull it off.

I have used the J concepts stuff. It works good if you run rarely and just want to keep it looking good. I have been racing my RC10 a lot and eventually it will wear through in the back. If I had to do it all over again knowing how much I was going to run the car, I would have left it off. Believe it or not, the stuff has quite a bit of weight to it for what it is. It also makes accessing the screws a real pain.

Stay away from the Associated sheet. If you ever take it off, you will understand why. (big sticky mess)
