bad vintage motor?
bad vintage motor?
I am going thru some old parts that I got with a #6010 RC10....
I have 1 motor (sticker removed) that I think may be bad.... I charged a battery and ran a test jumper it to the motor.
The motor starts to spin and just stops... Not sure of the charger is any good but I think the battery is new (borrowed).
I am on the fence of pitching the motor/ESC/charger and going with an inexpensive brushless system.
This NOT going to be for racing, just something to kick around int he yard.
Oh yeah the ESC is a Novak T4... anyone ever used the Legacy Trade in?

Re: bad vintage motor?
I would save the hassle of using old brushed motors, unless you have a bunch of them and brushes kicking around. Buy a Novak Brushless and brushless speedcontrol (I think they are $130 new as a combo) and an inexpessive lipo.

Yup, I bet there is a staple or a screw in it.rc10johnny wrote:Make sure the motor hasn't picked up some metal in it ,happens all the time

I can spin the pinion freely and the motor turns.... it is not locked up.
I did pull the brushes and they appear to have a reasonable amount left and no scored marks.
I grabbed a can of motor wash from a buddy, and I will try to hook it up this week again.
