Losi XXT keeps melting off motor leads?

Ok i have only ran this truck twice and on the second run the wires de-soldered from the motor. Any idea what could cause this, The motor was also smoking a little.

Specs:

Duratrax 8T Racing Reversible ESC
Novak 2S lipo cutoff
Turnigy 4000 mAh 2s Lipo
17 T Venom motor

What is the most common cause of motor wires melting off.

Generally the cause is over gearing. How hot does the motor get after a run?

I will have to look and see what pinion and spur im running. Thanks shodog

it could also be a long run time period. the brushed motors really don't like more than 10 minutes or so run time. with that lipo, I bet you can run it longer, leading to overheating.
