craigslist LOSI XX
Well I got this of of thr c-list and it doesn't look too bad.Only bad thing is the transmission makes clicking noises. He told me he rebuilt the transmission because the original case got busted. He gave me the broken case woohoo! The holes that hold the middle gear shaft look like they were crushed. So I know the gear is jumping around. So will need a new transmission case. The gear ratio is stamped on the side 2:19:1?I did check out the RPM website they show pix of everything I want for the car (except a new trans case)but they are discontinued.
He did give me a crate full of stuff with it though.Check it out.Sorry about the pix they are off my phone my camera is trashed.

Re: craigslist LOSI XX
Unfortunately in my limited experience (cause I haven't been looking) trans cases aren't easy to find for the XX and XXT. However if you can find one you will really enjoy the car a lot, I beat the snot out of mine and finally just broke a shock shaft end the other week.

Re: craigslist LOSI XX
Thats one of my biggest complaints with losi. No after market support. You can find all most every thing you need for the old rc10's . I am not knocking losi I have a few of there cars and think they are one of the best to there. It just seems that when you need part for any thing that has been discontiued you are on your own. All that said nice XX hope find the trans case.

Re: craigslist LOSI XX
In most cases lol no pun intended. The shaft the idler is on falls out of place in assembly if not done on the cases side to keep internals from falling out of place. When it does and isnt noticed and tighten tranny screws to motorplate it destroys the inner case.Don

Re: craigslist LOSI XX
Hope you can get it back up and running. I smashed up my motor plate and lexan gear cover last week. Now I get to do the ebay hunt.
Re: craigslist LOSI XX
Nice find! XX is a great car, and for the most part, the parts are pretty abundant on eBay. However the one you need (the case) are rare, just make sure when you find on to verify you have the right one. The XXT transmission is a different ratio, and I don't like the ratio with buggy wheels. I got the wrong one once, and I still have a complete XXT transmission that's sitting on the bench. I do however have several sets of internal gears, and I just found this on the bay,

I check eBay from time to time looking for spares, even if I don't need them. I could probably build at least 2 XX in spare parts, that way I am never stuck for months looking for a particular part. Great cars, but as mentioned factory support is not the best, so you have to take what you can find it.

Re: craigslist LOSI XX
Just came across this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260614678463
This is a great little hop-up part. For 5 bucks you have much more solid transmission brace, this seems to be a weak point in the XX, I have broke a few transmission cases here over the years.
wish this guy shipped to Canada... I need one.
