My First XX

Post by RCveteran »

I picked up a XX on EBAY and just completed rebuilding it. It was in pretty good shape. It needed the shocks rebuilt a new diff gear and diff balls and a good cleaning and ball ends. I added a RPM center link for the steering. I am more into JRX2's and not sure what I will do with this but it was fun and a pretty cool engineered car.

Recently while in Toronto I scored some great parts at a wonderful old hobby shop who had boxes of vintage stuff in the basement. I got the MIP CV kit for the XX but did not install here as I was not sure I wanted to open it and that this will be a driver. Extra thanks to thunderstrike1 one for the upper plate.

Very nice xx, will make a great runner. Personally it's my favorite (have a 5 link and many others, but always come back to drive my xx). Just out of curiosity where might this hobby shop be in Toronto? Does he still have a lot of vintage stock?

It's called John's Hobby. He only brought two boxes up from the basement, which were loaded. He said he has more but could not get to them at that moment. It is worth the trip if you are in the area.

I took a lot of XX stuff so I do not know.

I have to figure out what motor this thing has., It is pink, and says CHU manufacturing. It is insanely quick. It is significantly faster than my RC10B4.1 brushless.

It get hot but it is fun.
