Re: My "Fiberglass Franken-10L"
An update, its getting there slowly but surely. Here it has the Comp Craft "X" Chassis, rear CC Diffuser and now a proper upper pod brace by HPI. Its almost done, still need an ESC, will be running either the Astro Flight or an Older Trinity Drag Motor. The Wheels won't be run on this, they are for show.drbelleville wrote:And here is a side project that received the inside line front end, and sees wheels.
A new body will be installed, I messed the paint up, and do not like the Grill treatment.
This is a car being built for someone overseas - huge F-100 fan.

Re: My "Fiberglass Franken-10L"
Thanks guys for the compliments. As the CC car is being built for a Collector in Europe, who loves the F100 Trucks from the 50's it was trial and error with the body. It is actually a Parma F100, and is still available from most hobbyshops and online retailers. It fits the 200mm cars nicely, except for this car to get the right look - it sits too low to be a runner (the front is super narrow -20 degrees of steering). Unless you are using it for a Drag Car / Truck as is the case here. Also the rear end is as Narrow as possible - with the one piece pod and narrowed axle spacers and thin spur gear. I actually did not like the way the body turned out, and am painting another with the grill area behind the chrome grill painted black. The stickers are from a Proline F100 as the Parma ones were a bit "ugly". Just a note, the Proline Body will not work as the wheel base is way too long - even for a Touring Chassis with adjustable wheelbase / flipped A-arms.

Re: My "Fiberglass Franken-10L"
Update # 2476
Well Chassis is finished, the motor is swapped to a Trinity Speed Gems mod, with a 13T x 1 Armature. The Astroflight will still be going with the chassis until I can find a Tekin 420 to handle the motor. Right now there is a 412P installed. The foams mounted are the same type as the actual ones (NIP) that will be used to run on the pavement, and the See's will be for display. The new owner liked the paint, so I just framed the grill out with adhesive backed carbon fiber. Might get some weird looks for this, but the rear end was outfitted with a Litesink using an Associated motor offset to clear the upper pod brace. Reedy pack not included, can't ship that.
Thanks
Maurice
