My 1st RC10
Hi! I'm from the Philippines. I've been into RCs for some time and I race 1/10 touring cars. Recently, I discovered my interest for vintage RCs. I have started with a few vintage Tamiyas, 2 Astutes, a Frog, and a Supershot on the way.
A few weeks ago, I came across a Gold Tub RC10 in our local forums, and got it immediately. Not many RC10s here in the Philippines so I wasted no time in buying it for about $80. It came with a Futaba MJ radio, servo, and an MC112B esc.
It is almost complete, but the chassis has holes drilled in it and the white parts are pretty stained.
I'll try my best to restore this car, maybe order a new body (if I find a store whith one in stock!) and other needed parts.
Hope to get a lot of help from this great forum!
Kind regards to all!

Haha. Thanks FERRETTI, I know! This one I got could have fetched not more than $20 here a few years back!FERRETTI wrote:Welcome to the board Mark, your getting into the vintage RC10 stuff just at the right time, prices are really starting to drop, NOT![]()
By the way, anyone know where else to order a bodyshell aside from Tower?
Thanks.

Welcome to the board Mark. Tower has been out of most RC10 bodies for a while, but the Protech *should* be back some time. Who knows when. I think the other bodies were discontinued. In the mean time, the best place would be to check your local hobby shop, maybe you will get lucky, otherwise ebay. Unfortunately it looks like the RC10 resources are starting to dry up.

Thanks Melvin on the info re the bodyshell. One of the old shops here recently re-opened to get rid of old stocks, I came across what I think was an RC10 body a couple of weeks before I found this car. When I retured, it was gone! I had it in my hands, should have bought it then!
I may just have to strip this old shell and repaint in the meantime. Too bad the back end was cut off. I've had success in stripping an old shell with nitro fuel, then repainting it. Attached is a picture. Hope this is okay, it's not an RC10, one of my Astutes.

I got to work a little in my RC10. Dyed the white parts black as they were too discolored, bleach didn't do them any good. Started assembly. This is not that great a restore but I'd like to share it anyway. Parts are non-existent here in the Philippines, but was lucky enough to find a racer with NIP front and rear CRP tires, I'll be getting them this weekend. Thanks for looking.
