on painted body

I have to ask a question … what’s the thing about to not paint the body on new built or restored cars? Lot of members shows their car without painted body, I don’t get it… place in light me…

I have a couple cars that have clear (Unpainted) bodys, But its nothing to do with having cool vintage electronics, I just suck at painting

Haha same here. Though the only R/C I have with an unpainted body is my RC10 CE. Not only does it allow you to see everything, it gives it a newer feel.

yup, same here. I tend to do my rc projects in the winter when it is cold. I do my painting in the garage so as not to smell up the house(and because that is where the air compressor is). It is hard to paint when the paint freezes before it dries.
By the time it is nice enough out to paint I am busy doing other things.

I have to paint outside and it's always either too cold, too windy or too humid, but I just have to go for it whatever conditions are because I personally dislike clear bodies.

On the other hand if I had a real sweet piece with a nice vintage appropriate body I might be inclined to leave it clear.

After working in the yard all day for the first time all year my body feels vintage right now though...

Yep, my mini paint booth works marvellously, too. I even made a topic on how to build one of your own for less than $50 in materials. My own opinion on unpainted cars can be summed up in one word: unfinished. That's just how they look to me.

My wife would literally drop dead of a heart attack if I ever attempted to paint a shell in the house. She is way too much of a neat freak. Not to mention it would end in disaster guaranteed if I tried it. I would end up having to rip up carpet or repaint walls...

I do my painting when my wife is on a business trip. That she doesn’t know, can’t bother her… right?
