i could never get into that screamin' music. i think it's almost worse when a girl is the one doing it.

that's the kinda stuff my kid listens to. he's a drummer, and oh...... how he loves fast double bass.

the more i think about it, my wife should front my kids band. she's always screamin' about something. :P

Man - thanks to our friend Jason here and Dr Jay Schultz - I am now hooked on Disturbed.....here is one of my most favourite songs from them. Its probably more because it is another demonstration to people that hard core rock/heavy metal music is not about raping virgins and biting the heads of chickens as some simply dismiss it as. This video (much like Metallica's "Öne") speaks volumes in not only its lyrics, but also its visual content.

This vid isnt for the kiddies - unless you watch it first and screen it............but watch the clip - and appreciate the story....moving stuff.

Not everyones favourite topic - but it certainly tells a story and doesnt glorify the sad truth of suicide.

EDIT: Heres the link to the bands official video and pre-clip message: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxujAPhxlo0

Cheers

my kid has been working on figuring out "inside the fire" on the drums. it's not perfect yet, but he can kinda BS his way though it.

i've been working on "the night" on guitar. i have it pretty much down, except the sweeping part of the solo that leads right into the tapping segment (3:30). my brain will simply NOT tell my fingers to do it correctly. other than that, it's an awesome song to play.

I completely agree, Disturbed is and awesome band, One of the proudest moments in the resent past is when my son (13) came over and said his favorite song and band is Disturbed - "Another Way To Die", My little environmentalist in the making

Hard to beat old school "Crue" when it comes to cowbells. My 8 year old son got a laptop for christmas and I just threw a bunch of MP3s on it for him. A while back he was telling me that his favorite song was Maiden's "Run to the Hills". Proud Papa! No Bieber here.
