I am really P/O'ed!
I am sorry but I just have to vent and I know some of you will understand.
I put up an thread in the local RC forums looking for vintage ESC's and I got a hit. Guy replies "I got two Novaks you can have for $10". I replied "Cool. I will buy them. Do you by chance have any modified motors too?". So we arrange to meet at a local race and in a hurry to get out the door he forgets the esc's in his second car. OK. Cool. No problem. We agree that he will let me know when is a good time for me to go to his house(because we live close together) to pick them up. He also hands me 2 beat up stock motors and says "You can have these for nothing". I was thinking this was not what I was looking for but I appreciated the gesture none the less so I took them and thanked him.
So life gets busy and I put it in the back of my mind and two weeks later I get this message.
"I guess you changed your mind about the esc's. I have not heard from you since I gave you the motors for free.
I traded the esc's.
Thanks anyway"
I could care less about not getting those esc's but now I feel like a douche bag for taking the free motors that I did not even want and not trying harder to close the deal.
Not upset about the deal falling through. Just really P/O'ed at THE WAY it fell through.
Thanks for listening.

If you can take anything away from this, it's the fact that Canadians are odd.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

So why not offer the guy five bucks for the motors? It gives you a chance to get back in touch and let him know you meant to follow through with the deal but forgot. Even if he says no, you get a chance to apologize or at least try to make things right. Then you at least have a clear conscience. I realize you didn't even want the motors, but making the offer helps to neutralize the situation now before it turns into something.

Re: I am really P/O'ed!
Hi Jeremy.
I can sympathise with you there. Ever since getting back into R/C some 7-8 years ago I have bought, sold and traded plenty. You make some friends along the way (or atleast I thought I did) and I am always too happy to help friends out. Rarely do I expect a deal to go in my favour but when it does I certainly recognise it as such and am glad to know there are good people out there also wanting to help me.
Sadly I have come across a handful of real douce bags who think the world owes them something. Doubly sadly it seems most of these douce bags have been within my shores which really bites. I have been burnt plenty and have definately had enough and refuse to go any further with these scum bags.
I can honestly say that I have never traded away or given anything with any intention to 'butter someone up' but rather with the idea that one good turn deserves another firmly in mind.
I have always genuinely offered help to a fellow enthusiast to help them get a project completed or a leg up in the right direction.
People will be people. Some will appreciate your efforts while other will do their best to twist a given situation to serve their own purposes.

I'm PO'd too, but has nothing to do with RC. My main home PC decided to take a squat and leave a steaming pile, and although I have everything backed up, restoring everything back to the way it was is gonna be an X-treem PITA.
