Here's an update on our track here in Yuma, Arizona. track hours this month of August are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:30-10:30pm.
This month we're trying to focus on track design.
Here is our current track design:

Now it is really hard to redsign a track; it's more than a few guys with shovels to redo the whole course. Do to limited resourse and volunteers, it really comes down to time we have to work on the track. I wanted to change the track dramatically in the way we drive it, but a new layout that envolves the least amount of work.
Here's what I was thinking:

Yuma , new track layout v3 by atarit3, on Flickr
As you can see, after the second turn, the direction of the far-left side track would be inverted, leading backwards back towards the 2nd turn which we would move the 2 doubles into one large jump to get over the lower turn. Having the jump in this location I think would be less of a visual obstuction on the course. The landing area after that would be widened to the area to help on the landing. We would use the burm of dirt to form into the landing jump for the large jump.
Also, every jump facing the opposite direction would HAVE to be resurfaced to the new direction. This is where we need a lot of help at.
I would like to volunteer for the corss-over jump, because I beleive it's going to be the most vital part of this new setup. BUT, we're going to need some volunteers for the other jumps on the track as well.
We're going to need volunteers for the resurfacing of the back jumps, the table-top on the the back-stretch, and some also to resurface the two small jumps after the back straight away.
Also we're going to need someone to move around and put back in place the new track barriers.
So, who's with me?! Please let me know who'd be able to help out!
Once we have the people willing to help, we can set up a date to go out and hammer away!
Thank you in advance!
