A question about bundle selling YZ-10 stuff.

here's my take on it.

I would split it up into a few bundles. say you have enough parts to build a few cars, bundle the parts in such a way as to be an 'almost' complete car. I know I would be more willing to buy an 'almost' car for a smaller price than a big old pile of parts, strictly as an end user, ie, I want to build a car, not resell parts.

a reseller might be interested in a big pile so he can sell off piece-meal to earn a profit, but you need to find a reseller willing to shell out the larger sum of money, but that would be easier as a craigslist or ebay type transaction.

I wouldn't think it would take too long to spread the parts out, and sort them into more or less 'car' bundles and stick them in separate bags or boxes, but then again, I have no idea how big this theoretical pile is.

I think posting a mixed bundle of parts on eBay with a .99c start always gets everyone's attention, but it is risky.

I don't think he has anything set in stone yet but wanted to throw my $.02 into the mix since its an open topic. I think like what was stated above you would do better on splitting it up in parts. Not necessarily a whole car 'lot' but like all your small items together and section them. Say a-arms in one lot, wheels in another, drive gear items in another and so on. It would get split enuf that you'd make more $ on it but still not individualizing the parts. It also gets the interested parties to buy more from you by them having to pick up both drive gear items and a-arms if they allready have chassis readily available. I've been in that position a few times and it definitely makes me spend more than I have but I also end up with splitting up the parts myself to regroup my money back to pay for it if not make a buck. Anyway, thats what I would do anyway.

Thing is about doing anything like you are talking wether one big bundle or several small ones you gotta be thick skinned about anyone flipping this stuff for a profit. No matter how you look at it wether here or ebay or craigslist it will happen with a bulk type package deal like this wether intended or not.

I always try to split large bundles into parts lots as previously stated. I start with one of everything necessasry to build as much of a car as possible. Then slowly sell the other parts in lots as complete as possible. It just seems to be the most attractive to the buyers, and tends to maximize profit. -Jeff

Another way of doing it is to take a pic showing all of the parts that you have (a few pics if you have a super lot!!). Post the pic in the BST section and everyone that wants specific parts can PM you about exactly what they want. Fix everyone up with exactly what they are looking for and then throw everything that is left over into a batch or a few batches and sell them off.

This will allow everyone here to get all the rare individual parts that they need while offering a bit more money on your end because they are sold as individual parts - which will usually net more cash than a batch lot. Then you can clean the rest off your hands with a big bundle sale.

Best of both Worlds I think.

XXXmain. I have done that before. And if you have the patience, its a great way to go. But, if you have a bunch of things to get rid of, it becomes a nightmare trying to sort out who got there first, who gets what, "if you don't have this lseft, I don't want that or those"...

yep - agree on this... hoarding is costly, twice - first when you pay for the stuff, and second when you refuse to spend the time selling it properly
