I've just brought a 'cheepo' waterproof brushed electronic speed contoller for an old (ebay special) R/C boat.... I want to use the original Acoms 27mhz reciever that came with the boat.
The other day I thought i'd test out my new esc in the boat (it will replace the servo operated on-off micro switch that the boat came fitted with) but I remembered that the reciever is an old-skool non-BEC type & relies on a seperate 6v battery to power it... which in a boat is ideal as control can be maintained even when the main battery goes flat.
My questions are;
* I presume that my ESC ordinarily supplies power to the reciever through the plug?.... would this be 6v & therefore could I run this straight into my old RX to power it without the seperate battery pack?
* Ideally I'd like to run the 6v battery - therefore I presume i'd need to cut one of the wires on the lead to from the ESC to the reciever??
Thanks in advance
Dan
