Tamiya Holiday Buggy - Radio gear recommendation

Post by Brent J »

Hi,

I have an original Tamiya Holiday buggy less electronics. I was wondering what RX, TX and servos were the choice back in 1982?

I have seen a number around with the Acoms radio (dont remember the model)? I would like to finish this buggy off to keep it era correct!

Any suggestions?

Brent

Acoms 227 MkII is the one you had seen, I have 2 unrestored sand scorchers that came with it, so I think it's correct period equipment for 1979 to 1982 or so

Futaba in those early years had a primitive 2 channel alloy bodied transmitter with a steering wheel and a slider for the speed control

and about Sanwa, I have no idea. maybe someone can tell us. perhaps a early dash?
