Just another boomerang

Just wanted to show off my Boomerang. Several months ago I bought a Boomerang parts lot from Flipwils with the intention of using a couple of parts on my Royal Ripper. Well last week I won a Boomerang with a broken chassis on ebay for a pretty cheap price and put this together, painted the body and here it is.

I still need to do some more cleaning on it and attach the front bumper. I think I'll just add my old Novak M5 and a brushed stock motor. I've seen where people have put a pretty fast brushless system in it on youtube, but I'm guessing the gears dont hold up all that long.

Can you guys tell me if the original wheels (not the rere) can be dyed black with rit? Thanks!

don t overpower it... the front end is so poorly designed and it understeers like crazy with a mabuchi already

the drivetrain is pretty robust as long as you ballrace it

have fun! to me the boomy is one of the nicest looking buggies.

Nice Boomer.

The drivetrain can handel a 13t brushless with no problem just ball race and a new gear set if it's not. A re re Hot Shot alloy center shaft helps a lot too.

Due to no slipper in them you just have to be carefull on big jumps BUT you can still do them as you apply a little throttle just before the landings .Make sure all of the tranny screws are tight too. Especially the bottom nut & bolt with the triangle spacer as this stops the diff case from flexing.

Never tried dying the hot shot wheels but can't seem why not as they are nylon. There is no difference with the original and re re wheels.

I havent done much to my boomerang and I'm ready to add bearings this weekend. When I open up the gearboxes, if the gears are ok I'll reuse them. Would simple green be ok to clean the old grease off the gears? What about regreasing the gears...what kind of grease should I use? Thanks!

Anyone at all? I know its kind of a stupid question about the grease and all , but I've never messed around with a gear diff so I don't want to mess it up. Any help would be appreciated!

For the metal gears in the diff I use Tamiya Anti-Wear Grease - this is quite stiff and gives some 'limiting' to the diff.

For the plastic gears I use ceramic grease.
