Help figureing out what motor I have...

Post by ovalguy1 »

Hey everyone I was looking through my old brushed box of goodies a found these. I know I have GM1 on the left and a GM2 on the right. What I can not figure out is what the middle one is. It has the same can as the the GM2 but a different endbell. All the motors have epic on the endbell. The end bell is different on the GM1 and the middle one.(vented) It's a mystery to me.

Green Machine's were the same can as the Slot Machine (Roar 91) with kidney shaped lower vents, GM2's still said Roar 91 but with more horn shaped vents with a taper on one end, the GM3 was the Roar 96 or 98 with the cross bottom can and tapered bushings. Also, looks like the one motor has a Dirtinator/Buggywald can (right) or maybe a speed gems car with different magnets? From memory-

Charlie the first one is the Green Machine. It matches the pics I've found in some old mags. The one in the middle looks just like a Slot Machine but only green. The GM2 has pretty much the same endbell as the Midnight. I am completly puzzled.

Ok, dug through my RCCA archives-

Nov 92 Pg 17 is the "release" image of the GM- shows a green Slot machine endbell

Aug 94 Pg 82 is a GM2/GM side by side- GM2 is "heatsink" endbell, 3 hole "extech" can, laydown brushes   , Tri-Rotor , also the image of the GM shows a different enbell (the lower one in your photo)- so it looks like there was an update or something in the first version

Don't know if this helps
