Sharp loking rig, is that the stock body or aftermarket?...looks different than the regular sc104x4

Stock body, it is completely different from the SC104X4. I also moved/removed the stickers, out of the box, it was not very appealing. Now, I can tolerate it.

I hope they make an addition that is not ready to run as I have too much electronics as it is. It would keep the price down and not having to buy a bunch of stuff I don't need. But hey it comes with a 7 cell nimh battery. Same goes for the SC10B, it looks like fun.

I am using the stock motor, but with my other electronics. I sold the 2.4 radio/receiver and will be putting the speedo (with a different motor) into one of my vintage cars. Servo...well its an RTR servo. I did pull the stock *yuck* shocks off, I picked up the truck "used" with 2 full sets of race style tires (stockers were being used by the guys son) and SC104X4 rtr big bores. He bought the truck, charged up the pack, ran it in his house, needed the money and sold it to me. For $50 less than he paid for the truck alone.

I havent seen if anyone has tried the new LCG chassis on a slash, that may change things up. The ONLY way a slash is tolerable after driving one is with this LCG kit...experience tells me this even though I still rock my daughters PE slash 4x4 when I break everything else

my buddy is putting together his SC104X, so hopefully we can get on the track side by side and swap transmitters back and forth for 2 good comparisons. that will be my deciding factor (man I don't wanna take that new servo outta my sc104x4 ) Please let us know about it once you get some hands on comparisons

how is the pinion / spur set up? looks like a bit of a pain to deal with.. not a fan of most race 4x4 set ups.. wish they had the bat on the other side (oval racing) but this sure looks like the right direction compared to the sc104x4

I havent pulled the motor or spur out yet, so not quite sure how rough its going to be. This coming weekend I will be pulling it completely apart to fill the diffs with fluid (I actually read the manual last night, it states black grease only in there).

theJANG (of URC fame) did a review on the truck, 2 complaints:

• locktite the poop out of the drive cups
  body mounts are weak and break easily

the locktite thing is a done deal for me already, standard procedure for any RTR i pick up.
the bodymounts...well, I am going to put my hack engineering hat on and see what I can think of before i get a break.

This truck is nuts!! The turn in and overall steering in immediate. Stock motor speeds are okay (especially for an old/slow reaction guy like me), top end seems to suffer a touch on bigger tracks. I have raced it a few times, fought with the diff cups and loctite a few times. I have recently put a swaybar on the nose, need to order one for the tail as well, and found a 3 degree rear toe bar. I am attempting to numb the steering and slow the reaction time. Every time I have raced it, I have put it on the podium, which is saying a lot, our track usually combines the "pro" 4whl SCT with the "sportsman" 4whl SCT. I am in the latter catagory, but have been threatened with being moved up, since it is very easy to do well with this truck and I have been beating some of the "pro" class drivers. Since I bought/raced it, I have not been beaten by a "sportsman" class driver.

Some guys (not at my local track) are crying foul since this truck is almost a pound lighter than most every other SCT out there. I had to add about 10 "squares" of weight to make minimum. I have read about other testing this truck using regular 540 can motors, and ditching the 4 pole 550 monster motors. Still doing well and not overheating (according to them). I am seriously considering the Castle 3800 5mm motor, reports are it softens the low end enough to make the truck managable off the corners (the stock 4 pole 550 is 3500 kv and can lift the front tires up if the slipper is locked).

Overall....loving this thing. It has been keeping me away from my vintage, but it is making me a better driver with having so much over the top power. Throttle finger had to re-learn how to stay under control (too much time running blinky 17.5)
